Renouncing a race win at this point would be a waste of time. Most publications have said that there is no way that Alonso would have known about the fix, so him apologizing for something he had no hand in is kinda pointless.

We ALL knew that when Timo "lifted" in the last corner... and now with this, I am beyond pissed off!! They took away a championship from us!!!!... Viva Ferrari!!!

A high ranking FIA official reportedly knew about the 'crash-gate' allegations as long ago as the 2008 season finale in Brazil last year.
Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper on Friday published a transcript of Nelson Piquet Snr's August 17 interview with Quest investigators, commissioned by F1's governing body, about the scandal.
In the interview, Piquet revealed that after learning from his son about the deliberate crash only days after the September 2008 event, he told his former Brabham colleague Charlie Whiting "the whole story".
Today, Whiting is the FIA's safety and technical delegate and F1 race director and starter, and therefore the first point of contact between formula one teams and the Paris federation.
At Bernie Ecclestone's Brabham team in the 1980s, he worked as a senior mechanic and engineer with the team's then driver Piquet.
"Anyway in Brazil I talk to Charlie ... I got him and I said 'Look, what could happen to Nelson if I bring this up?' And I was afraid to screw up the career of Nelson (Jr)," Piquet said.
"... in the race in Brazil I called Charlie and I told the whole story to Charlie."
Max Mosley said at Monza last weekend that, despite earlier hearing rumours, the governing body could only move on the affair when Piquet Jr made an official declaration.
But the FIA president also said he only learned about the Piquet family's actual allegations in July of this year.
Multiple media reports said the FIA did not comment.

Raikkonen driving for McLaren... maybe.
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headline...20103457.shtml
It would be great for Hamilton to have a teammate that can push him. Kimi knows how to drive and would be a big upgrade from Heikki.

Kimi seems to need motivation and that doesn't seem to be competition. Maybe, there will some sort of 4 way deal between Ferrari, McLaren, Renault & Brawn so that each team can get the drivers that they want. Maybe Ferrari will make Kimi sit out for a year and let his skill atrophy so he won't be a threat in 2011. Yes, that is an expensive option.

If Kimi drives better than Hamilton he will most likely take over the #1 position. McLaren are not that in love with Hamilton that they will keep a better driver as second fiddle. In such tight and competitive sport results matter first of all.
However I believe Hamilton is a good match for Kimi and that they would push each other forward.

But say there were an ultra genius driver who outclassed all the others and drove for McLaren and McLaren had a too sucky car for Hamilton to win in. Would they still allocate the resources for Hamilton to lose rather than have this genius driver win for them?
I think not.

And Alonso was pissed over that. He was being beaten by a rookie. He claimed that Hamilton was being shown favoritism because he was British on a British team. It's the whole reason he left McLaren and went to Renault.

If it was favoritism towards Hamilton or just equal treatment that is the question. Alonso being a primadonna would react as strongly if a rookie is given as much as he is. He is number 1 so why should the rookie have attention?
As for the internal workings of McLaren we will never know, only believe. I believe they got equal treatment and they actually got exactly the same amount of points in 2007. Hamilton obviously had a great start by being able to benefit from Alonsos setup knowledge and Alonsos feedback when developing the car.
But as a driver Hamilton is on par with Alonso, which he proved in 2007. If he was the average rookie he would not be able to keep up with Alonso no matter how much help he was getting.
So to sum it up, Hamilton is just that good. Thats how he could score as many points as Alonso.

I always enjoy watching the two of them in a press conference after they podium; Lewis is eloquent and shows his emotions, especially positive ones, while Kimi is blank and monotone and keeps wiping crud from his eyes .

I would love to see kimi with mclaren. But I am not sure if he wants to be at mclaren. Especially when he said, that he would never driver for mclaren again. As for the Hamilton haters, who always feel that mclaren was playing favorites, you only make me laugh . things like, well if hamilton was in a Toyota etc, he wouldn’t be that good. But yet this driver was in the same exact car as Alonso, and he still out drove Alonso. You would think that if Hamilton sucked, he would be like heki some where in the middle of the pack, but yet out drove alnoso.
I don’t see how favoritism could play a part in qualifying. Alonso cried favoritism, but didn’t do anything to show he was a better driver then Hamilton. I guess he felt that mclaren should of told Hamilton not to push hard, because your making Alonso look bad. I guess Hamilton haters, don’t like to see rookie drivers pushing hard , especially when its against a world champ like Alonso. So is that what you mean by favoritism?
But these same haters never say anything bad about Alonso. Especially when he was blocking Hamilton in the pits, so that Hamilton couldn’t get his last lap in for qualify. I guess they feel it was justified to hold down the rookie driver, because this same rookie driver was using Alonso as a mop.
But like I said, I don’t know how favoritism has anything do with driver skill. Maybe mclaren was nicer to Hamilton (which I don’t blame them, Alonso was a freaking *****, who cried because some rookie out drove him). but on the track, it’s all you. There is no one to hold your hand etc, its all up to you how hard you drive. Being a ***** to your team, you will lose respect fast IMO.
IMO Alonso should spent less time crying, and actually proving to the F1 fans, that he is a better driver then Hamilton. But instead, he showed me he felt that mclaren should hold back Hamilton, because Alonso couldn’t push any more.
I now respect Alonso, because I feel beign with Renault brought him back to earth. But to say Alonso didn’t think he was all that and a bag of chips, while being at mclaren is called denial.

Vettel to throw caution to the wind
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headline...21102135.shtml
Sebastian Vettel will revert to a normal free practice preparation for the remaining four grand prix of the 2009 season.
The German had been limiting his mileage at recent races due to his diminishing supply of Renault engines but after a poor Italian Grand Prix, where the Red Bull driver's points deficit to leader Jenson Button dropped to a near-insurmountable 26 points, the team will instead throw caution to the wind because there little to lose.
"It is no longer going to help us if we drive defensively," the energy drink company's racing advisor Helmut Marko is quoted as saying by Auto Motor und Sport.
Team owner Dietrich Mateschitz said after Monza that the championship dream is now over, but Vettel told F1's official website that he will push to win the last four races of the season. "I will fight to the last breath and minute," said the 22-year-old.

Lewis Hamilton has hit back at claims he is not a worthy reigning world champion because of the 'crash-gate' revelations.
Felipe Massa was almost level-pegging on points with the 24-year-old Briton for the 2008 crown until Singapore, when the safety car triggered by Nelson Piquet's faked crash - and then Ferrari's famously botched pitstop - ruined the Ferrari driver's race.
Massa, who had dominantly won pole for the night race and was pulling away from Hamilton in the opening stint until the Piquet crash, ultimately lost the drivers' crown by a single point.
It has therefore been claimed that, had Renault not cheated, Massa would now be world champion.
But Hamilton told Britain's News of the World newspaper: "I am a worthy world champion. I have got the number one on my car and I deserved it."
He had a 1 point lead over Massa going into the Singapore round, but after Massa's problems he pulled clear by 7 points with just three races to go.
But Hamilton insists he was not trying to win in the Asian city-state.
"When you are leading the championship it is a different mind-set to when you are chasing. I was just thinking about the championship in the remaining races and getting the points I needed to win the title.
"If I had needed wins I would have gone for them," he said.
"I was driving with one eye on the world championship and wasn't going to take too many risks. I was happy to finish on the podium.
"There are things that happened last year with penalties that affected my points. And I still think I won in Belgium. I think that was my race," Hamilton added, referring to the earlier race at Spa-Francorchamps that was won by the McLaren driver but retrospectively handed to Kimi Raikkonen due to a chicane-cutting incident.

He was doing a good drive in both those races but the car was not quick enough to pass. I remember seeing that Massa only passed people in those races by having pitstops at fortunate times.
In the following race he retired with a technical problem. Qualifying position, just behind Massa, so no he was driving as fast as Massa there too.
Next race is where Massa has his accident and Kimi takes second place. Then third, then first, then third.
When you look at the whole picture you see an upgoing trend all the way from Monaco and I really think Massa could not have matched Kimi right now.
