Overall the driving was top notch nearly all the way around. Aggression, and passing like crazy! My hats off to webber who admitted he threw caution to the wind. Thats what makes a good race, and a great show.

Btw I am not daying hamilton is right, for what didi. But I can see why any driver would frustrated, with a strat that only a few drivers were on. Where every one else was on 1

why is no one blaming mark webber for his stupidity?
well yes u may say THIS IS RACING, and yes i'm a hamilton fanboi. BUTTT really WTF mark webber... sorry i just had to say that out loud again. hamilton's wrong bashing his team on the radio, but with so much pressure on him and like alfy said his struggle from 11th to almost 3rd, we can't really blame him for his outburst. what i'm curious is hamilton was clearly 3-4s faster a lap than everyone before he pitted and he was pushing so hard on kubica, yes he made a mistake and fall back again with massa, but he caught back up quickly. WHY THE **** did they pull him in?? Schumi had new tires and he was driving fast, but SO WAS HAMMY!! sigh. what an amazing race, but what a disappointment from red bull's car, webber's stupidity and mclaren's so called strategy |
Oh I understand his frustration. But thankfully for the viewers things like that happened all race. Not everyone had a cookie cutter stratagy and made for good entertainment. I say throw out the mandated tire change and keep on this trend of entertainment

The file will only be on for a few days, then they have to take it down. FIA owns all the broadcast footage. That is why you don't see past F1 races unless FIA authorizes it.
Watched the part I missed through your earlier link, and it was nice not having to listen to Varsha I must say. Thanks again. BTW, what happened to that Murray Walker chap? Must've hung it up a good decade plus ago, right? :D: |
No problem, dude. I know how frustrating it is to miss an F1 GP. I used to download torrents to watch all of my F1 practice/qualifying/races, but the guy/team no longer does that so luckily I heard about BBC's iPlayer. In a way, it is even better than torrents for me because I don't have to wait for it to download. I watch it in realtime (although the F1 coverage is not put on the site until after it have aired on BBC TV) BBC regained the broadcaster rights from ITV just two years ago and so there are no commercials. Once in a blue moon, you'll still see Murray Walker pop up in various GPs, but yes, he's long retired. Surprised you know about him. I concur with what you said about Varsha. Heck, I don't like any of the commentators on SPEED.

Also WE ALL know that Hamilton is very hard on the tires... no way he would have lasted the entire race if he did not change... And it was not Webber's fault!! common you guys... Hamilton tried to take Alonso and no way he was going to do this in that turn, then he drives across the race track so he doesn't lose momentum and does not see nor care about Webber...and then Webber had no place to go... I guess I should also complain that Alonso got pretty much taken in lap 1 and started dead LAST??? Actually the McLaren #2 boy got LUCKY!!! I wish he would have stalled and stayed in the gravel.... Enough said... let the fanboys begin their outcry! You guys are full of LAME excuses... "these guys are under so much pressure, poor him, bad strategy... buah buah buah..." Grow up guys... It's the way it is... Don't make up excuses... Isn't life a bitch? lol lol I feel happy for Button... HE was the one with the GUTS to go to dry tires... That takes balls and I am glad he won... well deserved!! Carlos |

Always the first to be the biggest hypocrites around. When your precious Alonso voiced his frustrations with his team crew (mcarlen and Renault) it was ok. But when another driver has frustration with his team due to Strats, its wrong. So the conclusion is, you guys are ok with it when it has to deal with popularity issues, but not ok when it pertains to actual F1 issues and planning issues. Alonso cried because Hamilton was becoming more popular then, Hamilton cried because to strat his team was using. I don’t know, but sounds like to me you Ferrari fans think F1 is MTV (bunch of reality shows) where us non Ferrari fans, watch F1 for real reasons. So touché my friend, touché <~_^> |

I guess this only applies to other drivers ah?? and not Hamilton...Now who do you call hypocrites? He was a CRY baby this weekend... He does not have the guts to be a World Champion and he will not be this year... :) Hamilton is the "Nancy Kerrigan" of F1 racing... "why me why me?" And BTW, if these "reality shows" get Ferrari kicking McLaren butts, then bring them on!! I know Alonso has had a fair share of criticism and blaming your team does nothing for you. At least, it seems he has undestood this...unlike Hamilton. I love the "no team orders" in Ferrari now (I know this was not like this when MS was part of the team)... that is the only way to save F1... Malaysia... here we come... :) Carlos |

well even as hamilton fanboi we have to give props to alonso, starting dead last and finishing up 4th. lol. yea yea. he's good in this race blah blah blah, let's see wt he's got for the rest of the year :D Yes, there's lots of what ifs in F1. IF dumbass webber could've stopped in time (yes hamilton might be a bit aggressive in that move, but come on that's what makes F1 so interesting. If no one tries shit in the race, it'd be friggin NASCAR) & IF the dumbass team principal hadn't made the order to call hamilton in, McLaren MIGHT HAVE had a 1-2 finish. IF Vettel's car is liable at all, he'd surely win every race he's in. IF Schumy hadn't damaged his front wing in turn 1, he might've won too who knows. like alfy said, hamilton was mad just cuz he got pulled in when he's making hop laps. starting 11th, he never even thought abt winning the race. BUT when he was tailing Kubica all the way, you have to forgive him thinking WHY THE FUCK DID YOU PULL ME IN?! You know, he's human too. Human are supposed to be emotional. |

Nick Heidfeld has revealed his struggle to adapt to merely watching qualifying at the grands prix from the reserve bench. After holding out for the race seat in 2010, the 32-year-old is instead Mercedes' reserve driver, due to Michael Schumacher deciding to mount a return to F1 following three years of retirement. "It feels strange, especially when it's just before qualifying, I'm struggling with it," he told the German national newspaper FAZ. "Before, it (qualifying) was always a moment where you had the adrenaline rush and then off you went. I really miss it," said Heidfeld, who will be present for all 19 races this year in case Schumacher or Nico Rosberg are unable to race. Heidfeld insists he does not regret his decision to turn down lesser offers this year in the hope of finding a "top team" to race with. "I am convinced that I will get a place in a (race) car again, although of course I am worried and would prefer to be there now." http://www.worldcarfans.com/11003302...-as-f1-reserve |

I'm not saying that Hamilton is better than Alonso here Polo. I am just saying that they are both among the top 10 drivers in the world and that they both can handle worn tires.

When it comes to rain it always falls down to a gamble. I am glad for Button that it paid off. |

Wrong, Hamilton uses the tires very effectively without wearing them out. Granted the run he had given them had worn on them more than the usual run, but his tires were no worse than Alonso, rather the opposite. Hamilton and Alonso have very similar driving styles. Both like oversteer, both like driving over the limit. If Alonso from last position could make his tires last, then Hamilton could do the same from P11. I'm not saying that Hamilton is better than Alonso here Polo. I am just saying that they are both among the top 10 drivers in the world and that they both can handle worn tires. Polo, please don't say stupid things like that. Webber braked 20 meters later than both Alonso and Hamilton. Even if Hamilton had not been there Webber was on a one way trip to the gravel trap. Webber even admitted and apologized for this AND was reprimanded by race stewards. Everyone involved and who has input from telemetry etc said Webber was at fault. Please Polo, don't just lie outright, because that is what you are doing. Did you even look at the replay. Alonso cuts in harshly in the right turn and his right rear hits Buttons front left and thus Alonso spins. In the first few turns you have to hold out and give each other room. Alonso made a mistake and spun. It was a human mistake, but the fault was his. Don't compare that to someone going in way faster in a turn than is possible for the car to handle. Then you are a very petty person. To be wishing bad luck on others. It was a bad move strategy wise. Martin Whitmarsh has gone out and said this that it could possibly have costed a 1-2 victory for McLaren. But yes that is racing. Agreed. It is a bit of a gamble though. It paid off and Button benefited from it. Last year Kimi did the opposite gamble in Malaysia, going on wets when rain was imminent. Unfortunately the rain didn't come for a few more laps and his tires burned up and he just lost a lot of time on it. When it comes to rain it always falls down to a gamble. I am glad for Button that it paid off. I guess you never saw the best driver in the world in action... Ayrton Senna NEVER held back even in turn 1... This is what real drivers do... Agreed, you need to use your common sense but in racing that goes out the window as soon as the light changes from red to green... I saw the replay and I guess we saw two different events... I believe Webber was even trying to take both cars, he ran out of room and so did Hamilton when trying to pass Alonso, then cut the corner and got hit... He actually got lucky the he did not get trapped in the gravel... Now let me see, what driver lost the championship because his tires were toast while entering the pits??... remind me... :) Hamilton is always locking up the front tires... heck he even likes to do burnouts in public... common sense?? you tell me... Damnn... I feel important today! :) :) lol lol Let's face it, we all have different points of view and, just like you, I could be biased towards my favorite team... So should I blame Button that Alonso had the spin? It was an unfortunate event... I could even use the "Hamilton fanboy group" favorite word... "IF"... so "if" Alonso did not spin he could have won the race... right?? I love my team but I am not blind...

Heck we have to keep his age in mind. When I was that age I did burnouts in public too. Heck I still do and I'm 31. And I would not be surprised if Alonso has made a burnout in public here or there too. We are talking about people who love driving extravagantly. |
wow the McLarens are blasting down the straights at Sepang... The 6km/h advantage is true as they clocked 310 vs 305 for Alonso.
