Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel escaped with official reprimands but no actual penalties after their pitlane incident during the Chinese grand prix.
Stewards, including former F1 driver Alex Wurz, deliberated the incident after the 56-year-old race. Hamilton attempted to race the German both on the pit entry and exit, and Vettel moved over on the Briton in the pitlane. In separate stewards reports, the officials said Hamilton and Vettel drove "in a dangerous manner" and were issued the "penalty of a reprimand". McLaren's Hamilton said in the post-race press conference on Sunday that he was not aware the incident was being investigated. "As far as I am concerned I think it was okay. We touched wheels but otherwise I think it was fair," said the 25-year-old. "It was good racing." Vettel, however, was upset with Hamilton's driving. "I don't know why he was keen to touch me," said the Red Bull driver http://www.worldcarfans.com/11004182...-pitlane-clash Probably why I dont care for vettel. Every time somethings happens, he always act like a titty baby. He reminds me of the driver in the moviet "The Driver" with Stallone. Both act like baby's. Even though i think hamilton was way over aggressive in the pits, Vettle comment sounds so ghey. He has that "Poor me "attitude |
:yesnod: now that's justice :ylsuper:

Call it whatever but racing and endangering others in pit lane is a NO NO in my book... Heck even Alfy knows this was wrong...as he was waiting for the right call (take 2nd place away from him) Oh well, besides this, it was a good race... a bit boring at times... but good race overall... HAPPY for Button to show who is #1 and awesome driving by the first 5 guys... even Petrov did good. 3 more weeks for Spain... Can't Wait!!!! Carlos |

Damn... "justice"??? You call being a dickhead without caring for the crew's safety(in the pits) fair? damn.. I guess the stewards are a bunch of cowards now for not calling this incident the way it was...They are now "too nice" and "reprimend" the drivers... WTF??

You usually show up when Hamilton has been in the highlight :suspect: I also know why you don't criticize him for passing Vettel in the pit entry. Because Alonso did the same move on Massa so now that is a perfectly fine move! As for the driving in pit lane, you see how Vettel forces Hamilton out to the right. There were place for two cars driving in the speed lane. And then they touch tires just because Hamilton refuses to move further to the right. And then finally Hamilton goes in behind. The thing is you say he endangers people, but unlike us who only have the camera view, he is sitting in the car and seeing that there are only tools laying out ahead. There are no people near the tools. The drivers got reprimanded because it was wrong, but since no one was endangered and it can be understood as a race incident there was no penalty. Unlike some other driver who try to cheat by starting before the others. They get penalized and rightfully so. Bloody cheaters. Some drivers have no character at all. |

I wasn't aware a driver could mess that up, since I thought the first in line decided entirely how the restart should be made. |

Carlos i mean... yes he shudd've backed up a bit when he realized he was side by side of vettel but the lollipop were raised almost at the same time. vettel was pushing him towards the pit crew. it'd be unfair to call hamilton a dickhead. vettel was wrong in that situation as well. and omgg that's blasphemy, how'd u have the slightest thought that this race was boring at times?? and lol... PerSmitt... spot on about Alonso |
Heck....
Alonso was NOT in the middle of the Pit Lane with Massa when they almost collided... You really think Hamilton wouldn't have done the same?? He has been driving very agressively lately and "read my lips", he will be penalized in a near future... He has gotten away with a "reprimend"?? Mr Per. :) You are comparing apples and oranges... If jumping the start is a cheater, then cutting the chicane "ala Hamilton" back in a race with Kimi must make Hamilton a cheater too, right?? remember that? Considering 4 pit stops plus a drive thru penalty and still finish 4th speaks volumes of what Alonso is capable of doing... Mr Dezau. :) You are very new here (in the F1 forum) so I need to get used to your humor :) Good to know you realized that Mr. Ham got away with this... and welcome to our discussions... :) Carlos:ylsuper: |

From F1 Sporting Regs.
40.11 When the clerk of the course decides it is safe to call in the safety car the message "SAFETY CAR IN THIS LAP" will be displayed on the timing monitors and the car's orange lights will be extinguished This will be the signal to the teams and drivers that it will be entering the pit lane at the end of that lap. At this point the first car in line behind the safety car may dictate the pace and, if necessary, fall more than ten car lengths behind it. In order to avoid the likelihood of accidents before the safety car returns to the pits, from the point at which the lights on the car are turned out drivers must proceed at a pace which involves no erratic acceleration or braking nor any other manoeuvre which is likely to endanger other drivers or impede the restart. As the safety car is approaching the pit entry the yellow flags and SC boards will be withdrawn and replaced by waved green flags with green lights at the Line. These will be displayed until the last car crosses the Line. |
lol polo no hard feelings~!
hm... has button explained what happened during the restart at all? |
Ecclestone tells drivers to 'stop moaning' about Hamilton
lol and my oh my
http://www.worldcarfans.com/11004192...about-hamilton Bernie Ecclestone has told Lewis Hamilton's rivals to "stop moaning" about the on-track tactics of the 2008 world champion. The McLaren driver's weaving in front of Vitaly Petrov in Malaysia was a theme throughout the Chinese GP weekend, discussed at length in the media and in the drivers' briefing by many of Hamilton's opponents. The 25-year-old - as well as Sebastian Vettel - was then reprimanded by the stewards in Shanghai for a pitlane incident, but it was Vettel who complained, saying afterwards that Hamilton "was keen to touch me". Referring to the Sepang weaving saga, Hamilton told reporters in China that he did not understand "why everyone was fussing about it". Asked if he thought the issue was overblown, he answered: "Yeah -- they seemed to be talking about it for some time." F1 chief executive Ecclestone also thinks Hamilton's rivals should focus harder on their own driving. "What are they talking about?" he is quoted as saying by the Mirror. "Isn't this sport all about racing? "I thought Lewis had a fantastic race. He drove really well and they should stop complaining and get on with the racing. "I loved watching his performance in Sepang. I bet the fans did too. It (the reaction) was a whole lot of moaning about nothing," Ecclestone added. |
