Is the first pic the 07 car and the second the 08??
|
The left is 2008 spec and the right is 2007 spec.
The significant details is Hamilton doing a winning motion and having rain tires on the left one, hence 2008 (since he won in the last turn in a rain race). You can also tell the difference on the front and rear wing, but I wouldn't be able to tell which is which from that. |

No, it's pride. Your team mate supposedly has the same car as you. Your the best, right? You have to beat him. If you can't beat him, how can you be the best. Even if you are on one of the lessor teams, you have to beat your team mate. Then if you just had a better car, you could be champion.
only thing i can tell is the left is wet's. as for the year it looks like 08 car due to the front wings. the right one is 07 car i believe due to no dip in the rear wing. |

I love that team! |
If that's for real then I like them. If it's just a promotional thing it's still fun to watch though :)

Lewis and Jenson are probably having a "oh gods it sounded that bad?!" feeling once it is published ;) I mean promotional or not, it requires guts when you are a superstar to allow something like that to be published. |
Ah the plot thickens about the wing:
An unnamed 'senior engineer' at Red Bull said that Mark Webber did not find the new front wing any more effective than the old one and only wanted it back when there was one left. The team official confessed he was surprised that Webber made a commotion when team-mate Sebastian Vettel was given his new-specification wing prior to qualifying for the British Grand prix. "Throughout the period when he used the new wing, he complained that it did not work any better than the old one," the engineer told Finland's Turun Sanomat. "Mark simply did not get a good feeling with it, but when there was only one left, Mark absolutely wanted to have it. He did not care about it at all when we still had two new wings." The engineer added that Vettel 'immediately liked' the new wing when he ran it in practice. "We believe that the team management's decision was well-reasoned and logical." http://en.espnf1.com/redbull/motorsp...ory/23634.html :mchase: |

Time FOR SOME NEWS!!
Ferrari wants to change the rules again, well that doesn't suprise me one bit. Ferrari I have a easier solution, if one of your team mates cut corners due to accidently or being forced to, give the spot back and go back to getting the spot. Shouldnt be hard to understand in the rule book that the FIA presented to you, if 4 wheels cut a chicane you must give the spot back. it doesnt take comon sense to understand that, it only shows how stupid you are to call the Tower to confirm if you need to give the spot back to kubica. What is their next rule change request, cars that are not painted red should not be able to race? Ferrari wants a rule change in the wake of Fernando Alonso's drive-through penalty imposed during the recent British grand prix. The Italian team criticised the time it took for race director Charlie Whiting to answer a query about whether Alonso, who cut a corner, should hand back the position to Robert Kubica. Ferrari claims it took the FIA almost two minutes to respond, by which time giving the place back to Kubica would have been complicated. "We will discuss an amendment to the regulations: if the race directors are not involved within 3-4 corners afterwards, the manoeuvre is considered to be correct," team boss Stefano Domenicali said in an interview with La Stampa. Following Ferrari's furious criticism of the safety car rules after the preceding Valencia race, the regulations were tweaked at Silverstone. When mischievously asked whether the rules need changing after every race, Domenicali smiled: "It's a very complex spo |
I agree on the rule change, it would allow a lot of interesting fights to take place. Obviously you could only change the line and "jump" the chicane ONLY if you were being pushed outside.
Only problem is that they should make this change effective not from the next race but from the nex SEASON. Changing the rules mid-season is stupid to say the least (unless safety is involved), IMPROVING them from season to season is a good idea. (Mumble mumble i'm a good lawyer!) What do you think, Alfred? :) |
Ferrari is hurt
After a run of poor results for the Maranello based team, Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali says he wants to see a "strong reaction" this weekend at Hockenheim. "Whoever does not believe we can win the world championship should find another job," he insisted. Domenicali said abandoning the 2010 car to focus on its successor is not yet a consideration. "Before making calculations we must take home podiums and victories," he said in an interview with La Stampa. "There is a tide of points at stake." Domenicali said he can understand some recent criticism of Ferrari, but reveals he was "hurt" when it was suggested the team is in "disarray". One criticism is that while Red Bull pioneered the blown diffuser and McLaren the F-duct, Ferrari has recently been light on innovation. "We have done less visible things: the wheels, some aerodynamic. But I do accept the criticism: some striking solutions have come out." He defended the arguably erratic performances so far of team newcomer Fernando Alonso. "Driving for Ferrari has a different weight. Some say that once you are in the car it is all the same, which is absolutely not true: the pressures on our team are not comparable to the other teams, Red Bull, McLaren or Mercedes." Domenicali believes Ferrari is simply in a period of "renewal". "To win, you need to go through those periods. After a wonderful time, the basic rules have changed: at first everything was unlimited but now you must think about budgets and simulations. "Imagine that tomorrow all football is played on synthetic grass; the sport is the same, but the preparation, the materials, the techniques would all change." Translation, we at Ferrari are running around with our head cut off, but once we know what we are doing we will give you guys a call. |

What do you think, Alfred? :) You can always break later to get up next to the other driver so you are "forced" to cut the chicane. And if the tower is busy with something else so you travel 4 corners before they come back and state clearly, guys that was against regulations, then you can keep your position. Such a rule invites rulebreaking because it means. If the referees don't have time to look at it in time then you get away with it. Which is pretty much what Ferrari wants. Getting away with it. |

Dunno. If a driver has got the guts to cut inside and the other one the balls to close him then they're willingly taking a risk.
It could also improve safety, indirectly. If I knew that if I closed him he could cut straight i honestly wouldn't give him this "advantage" and defend my position in a different way :) |

Hey bse, what are your predications for Ferrari out come for this weekend race? I think they are going to do really well this weekend. I feel that the team and drivers really want to move foward and get on the podium this race.
|
the drivers deserve to see their talent rewarded, the scuderia deserves another season of ass kicking. I'm torn between those 2 realities right now... If nando or felipe could win on a bicycle i'd say that they're going to do good things this coming weekend :)

What do you think caused Ferrari downfal?

2008 they had all these losses but they still had a great car since regulations had not changed that much. They had the best car in the field but failed to capitalize on it due to silly mistakes like the fuel rig and other things that could have been avoided if there had been better leadership and better training / preparations. 2009 the world was turned upside down and this "new Ferrari" had to build their own car. It sucked goats by the pasturefuls. They abandoned that car and focused all their effort on the 2010 car. The head start gave results, Ferrari and Red Bull were the obvious teams to beat during winter practice and Ferrari had a strong first weekend. Then the other teams caught up and left Ferrari behind again. I really believe it is the leadership that sucks. If the leadership is vague all people working gets vague results and then the car gets vague. Or at least that is my theory... |
