One more down... I wonder if he will burn another engine in the next practice...

Hope Hamilton can get on top of the Red Bull this week-end, McLaren has been the 3rd team way too much recently.

Alonso title due to team orders 'a shame' for F1 - Heidfeld

Read more: http://www.worldcarfans.com/11011042...#ixzz14PzgXVzJ

Nick Heidfeld on Thursday said it would be a shame if the team orders saga is seen to have influenced the outcome of the drivers' world championship.

With two races to go, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso is 11 points ahead of Red Bull's Mark Webber in the points standings.

7 of those points were earned in Hockenheim, where Alonso's teammate Felipe Massa was controversially moved aside despite team orders being banned in F1.

Ferrari was fined $100,000 for the move but Alonso kept his points.

"If Alonso wins the championship with a margin less than the 7 points, it would devalue the championship -- that's a personal view," said former FIA president Max Mosley.

Red Bull's team boss Christian Horner agrees, stating that seeing Alonso win because of the extra points would be "frustrating".

Sauber driver Heidfeld said in Brazil on Thursday: "From a team's perspective, it (team orders) is perhaps understandable.

"But it would be a shame if the championship is decided by the fact that Red Bull has followed the rules while others see it maybe differently.

"If that happens, I would really hope that Red Bull's behaviour is seen in a positive way," the German is quoted by the news agency SID.

Earlier this week, McLaren team boss and FOTA chairman Martin Whitmarsh refused to say a title win for Alonso would reflect badly on the sport.

"I think we've had a very good championship and that's what we should think about, full stop," he said.

Heidfeld should shut up.
What if the Webber didn't crash during the last race? What if he didn't take off in valencia?
What if Vettel wasn't a kamikaze? What if Hamilton didn't crash twice in 2 gran prix?
Again, what if Alonso didn't race with a broken gearbox? crashed elsewhere like spa?

He should focus on not being spanked by kamui in the last races as well

Yep but Alfy and I both love each other, even if our religious differences will never make our marriage easy.
He will understand, one day, that his god is the wrong one though.

Look what happens when you stress the Ferrari engine:

14:59 Massa is third fastest with a 1:12.677, still shy of the Red Bulls.
15:01 Massa has coasted to a halt. Another engine problem perhaps? Massa is on his ninth engine.

Granted its not confirmed what the error is since this just happened.

He needs to find a good setup for qualifier and race so he must do a couple of laps himself. Cannot have Massa do all the setup work for him.

OMFG LOL

Massa threatened with jail over team orders

Massa's superstar status in his native Brazil was tarnished when he acceded to team orders to let Alonso pass during the recent German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, an incident for which Ferrari were fined £65,000 for flagrant contravention of the ban on team orders.

The 29-year-old Massa, who has no chance of winning the title himself, has stated openly that he would help his team-mate to secure the drivers' championship.

But Paulo Castilho, a prosecutor in Brazil's Special Criminal Court, has told newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo that Massa will "leave Interlagos in handcuffs" should he let Alonso through, with the lawyer apparently ready to press charges of defrauding the Brazilian public under laws protecting the rights of fans to witness fair spectacles.

Massa himself remained unapologetic about the prospect of having to give up a victory to help his team mate, even if he acknowledged how much it upsets fans.

"For sure there are some people who understand it," he said. "They have the knowledge about this complicated sport when the team is in first position.

"But there are some people who will never understand. The crowd have opposing views but I insist our work is not to understand the opinion of the crowd but to do the best on the track."

Most likely. He put down some really good times in P2. P3 and qualifier should be exciting.

If massa lets alonso pass him, I hope the cops come charging onto the track, and pull massa over.

Thank you
Anyway all Massa should do to avoid any fines is let alonso pass on his own, without team orders. At that point it wouldn't be a matter of unfair conduct\show\whatever from ANY point of view.
If I were him i'd just run straight to the chequered flag though, my fair sportsmanship conduct went down the drain approx. 4 years ago =)

Jeebus, I swear - as a team-mate, Button is only slightly less useless than Kovalainnen.

Woah Hulkenberg was a whole second faster than everyone! He had the right settings for the dry track. Hamilton went with the super softs one lap too soon I think.

Very nice to see the top drivers being happy for him.
