Conspiracy theory

I have a strange feeling that Lewis was somewhat sabotaged from within the team. I would not normally say that but it seemed a little odd with the slow pit stop and crappy tires .I know they have a set amount of tires and that Jenson seems to manage tires better but something smelled a little fishy.

Lewis seemed quite disappointed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sce_UxtE7fw

Again, I wish they had superior and wider tires so we could just see who can outdrive the others.

Paul.

There has been some suggestion that for some reason he had a duff set of hard tyres (as the car was fine as soon as he switched to another set of hards near the end), it could be plausable given they're hand layed, if a little unusual.

Quick Nick's Open Letter to Robert

Dear Robert,

have you seen that? I printed your logo on the front of my helmet, and the Polish flag on the side. I wanted you to see that and to let you know that I'm thinking of you. I wanted to show your fans that you are a part of Formula 1 and of this team. This 3rd place is also yours! During the race I had often been thinking of you. Crossing the finish line, happiness totally flooded my head. I know what you are thinking right now: "Lotus-Renault has built such a wonderful car this year. I want to get back as soon as possible and drive it!" You can do it, I wish you all the best for your rehabilitation. Get well soon!

Yours

Nick

i dunno about this... would renault risk having robert back next year?

I think, from what i read somewhere that Lewis flat spotted a set of option during quali, that's why he went to hard tires after his starting set.

Hamilton's style is less than optimal with this rules and tyres, that's why he goes through them so heavily. Lots of blocking and stress for those rubbers

As for Kubica, i'm sure Renault would bring him back if he's able to drive a f1 car. Unlike Massa Kubica would require less mental "rehab", that guy's tough to scare!

Lets not forget how hard Hamilton had to push to try to get past Heidfeld. That caused the first set of tires to last too short. Pretty much the same situation Button was in behind Massa in the last race.

I agree that Hamilton can be very hard on the tires, but I also know he can look after them. But no one can look after the tires while trying very hard to pass the guy in front of you.

PS. Look Aln, we are having a civilized discussion here. Come back already.

Agreed, Hamilton can also preserve the tyres. The problem is that he loves fighting so he's not as disciplined as button when following strategies
I wish we had more drivers like him and lass math behind the races

I think thats one of the reason Hamilton fans hate Alonso and vice versa. The two of them are such passionate drivers and firm rivals that the passion is rubbed off on their fans.

When Alonso and Hamilton fight it out on the track no one knows if either of them will crash.

I think Ferrari will step it up though. They have the capability as much as the others for sure and they are passionate about making it happen.

You're right Paul, Ferrari's main concern is following the wrong development route and ideas so we may as well improve... in the wrong direction lol

This is all about science that requires very bright people with much R and D time and money. The rules limit their testing supposedly to cut costs but keep changing the formula drastically every year or two including powertrains; it's so stupid. Even Bernie is strongly against the move to 4 cylinders for 2013 that the FIA has decided upon.

Ferrari is just at a different point in the curve right now, maybe they will exceed the others within the next 2 races. It's just insane that Red Bull development curve never seemed to dip as low as anyone else's low last year. Their aero is 'ahead of the curve' .

Paul.

Redbull's real advantage is the front wing and the driver lineup. In the end they're not invincible, just pretty damn rock solid!

I'm thinking with all the problems Webber has been experiencing, the team will pay him a little extra attention this weekend. So for Quali, i'm thinking:
Webber, Vettle, Hamilton, Button, Alonso, some Renault, Massa, another Renault
as for the race:
Vettle, Webber, Button, Hamilton, some Renault, Alonso......

I would say McLaren has a better driver setup. Hamilton is pretty much equal to Vettel if not better. Button is in my opinion much better than Webber.

Hamilton, Vettel and Nando are pretty much all there. Upsides and downsides of their styles considered i'd say that they are more or less equal.

Put one of the best 3 drivers in the best car...

Webber is more consistent than Button who needs proper strategies or plain intuition to win. Webber may not be as fast but is always there scoring good points without taking too many risks. Vettel is the undisputed team leader though, that is against Webber... in McLaren they are both treated the same.
Ferrari has great drivers but completely lacks the cars. I'm seriously afraid that, without Alonso or Massa, we'd be battling mercedeses and saubers...

it's only been a week, yes ferrari's capable of doing over, but i doubt magic could happen in just a week, they might improve during the summer break?
