haha... Thank you thank you. Nah, he wears a Arai GP6-RC (racing carbon) which easily costs 3.5-5k. The normal fiber glass ones are still 1.5k. Mine's a HJC AR-10 which was like $250 after discounts.

So what does this have to do with F1? Don't take me wrong but who cares about the helmets we all use...open a thread to discuss this. (I am sure Al would agree)

Report says Ferrari out of ideas
http://www.onestopstrategy.com/daily...f%20ideas.html
One of Ferrari's key problems is a lack of imagination, according to a specialist Italian magazine.
The new 150 Italia car fell in line behind Red Bull and McLaren in the early races of 2011, and it threatens also to be outclassed by Mercedes and Renault.
The problem has been identified as aerodynamic in nature, with rumours suggesting development of the car will be moved to the Toyota wind tunnel in Cologne as a recalibration of the Maranello facility is undertaken.
But even before Ferrari's current problems became clear, some commentators had observed that while the other top teams had obviously pushed the envelope for 2011, the Italian-made single seater appeared too conservative.
Autosprint said: "When was the last time another team took advantage of a Ferrari development? It was 2008, when the Ferrari had the hole in the nose.
"Since then, no one has even tried to emulate Ferrari's ideas," the analysis added.
Autosprint also said Ferrari has suffered ever since - due to the sport's efforts to cut costs - it was no longer able to take advantage of its ownership of two private test tracks.
To those who are wondering what the hole in the nose of the Ferrari looked like...

Now things start to heat up. Red Bull has apparently fixed their KERS issues and both cars will have fully working KERS in the upcoming qualifier and race.
http://en.espnf1.com/redbull/motorsp...ory/47443.html
Red Bull has fixed its KERS problems ahead of this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix, according to the team's consultant Helmut Marko.
The championship leaders have struggled with the technology so far this year, with Mark Webber yet to have a trouble-free weekend. After the Chinese Grand Prix Red Bull vowed to get to the bottom of the issues, which were believed to be related to overheating, and Marko insists it is now fixed.
"Our KERS system is fine, over the Easter break we have made some modifications," he told the German newspaper Bild. "It is much better now. It works."
With KERS working the Red Bull's could extend their advantage over one lap, which was up to 0.7 seconds in qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix. Championship leader Sebastian Vettel is hoping for more of the same in Turkey but is not underestimating his rivals.
"Our car should be strong there, but of course we have to respect our competitors and can never take anything for granted," Vettel said. "People are pushing hard, but we are pushing very hard too to maintain our strengths."

Vettel crashed in practice 1 in the rain and had to sit out practice 2 which was led by Button on dry surface followed by Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. Michael Schumacher was 4th. Nando was quickest in the wet in P1 also. McLaren still think that Red Bull are the team to beat while Mercedes are clearly catching up.
This race is going to be good.

Unless they do something stupid, Red Bull should have this one in the bag. McLaren will be desperate at race start for position but Rosberg is no slouch and will show his talent with the right chassis setup.

Yawn.
What a snoozer of a race. There were 30 seconds of excitement as the 2 McLarens battled each other.
Interesting to see the Bull's wing flex to the point of almost scraping the tarmac and how much downforce that generates (see Webber vs. Alonso). Even though El Gloomio is the better driver, the RB7 is a generation ahead.
The only interesting thing to come out of this weekend was Todt asking the teams to support limited testing, but that won't happen til next season! Ugh.
Blah...on to Spain.

It's funny; Nando almost looks like he's wondering how he'd look in the Blue and Red chassis. I can't say I would blame him entirely in his quest for historic relevance.
I'm sad to say that I have concluded that Michael is out of his league and should not have come out of retirement except for the mature seasoned help in development he may be able to offer and for the pure fun of racing.
Congrats once again to Sebastian who continues to show he is worthy of much praise in his driving ability. The boy is talented. I'm not a fan of the number 1 sign he always makes after a win as it makes him seem overly full of himself.
Paul.

As for Vettel, he is an awesome driver when he is controlling the race. But when he is behind and have to struggle to pass I think he has a lot to learn. I haven't seen a strong performance ever from him when playing catch-up.

I found this cool Vettel vs Webber qualifying comparison:

A really nice comparison. What I wonder is if Webber could copy Vettel's lines or if there is a difference in the setup that makes Vettel faster. Either Vettel is a better driver, or he is better at giving the engineers feedback for setup or he is better at both.
I wonder which.

Oi...
As much as I'd hate that, I'd cry with laughter to see Alonso's reaction.
Ferrari not ruling out Hamilton swoop

Congrats to Button for showing there's more than one way to get on the podium ahead of Webber and Alonso! Congrats to Vettel and the RB garage for being able to leap frog Hamilton in the pits and stay ahead. Man the tires have really brought out the chess masters.
If Hamilton had come in from his first stint 2 laps earlier he would have won the race. Assuming Vettel couldn't have caught him at the end just like he couldn't catch Vettlel.
