Official 2011 Formula 1 Season Discussion

One thing I'm not a fan of in the rules is the control tower telling the driver when they can use the rear wing adjustment.
That sounds like crap. Forcibly allowing the overtaking driver an advantage but only when they're close enough and you can't use it until I say you can. Really?? I can see it now there will be protests left and right that someone used the wing without authorization or they should have been given the green light earlier.
Next the control tower will be pushing the KERS button for the drivers too...

Organisers have said F1 authorities are advising them to have the circuit ready by June 2012, raising expectations the race will be paired on the calendar with Canada.

I agree with Alonso there. Why should he put up with paparazzis ruining his vacation? I dont understand the language but from the translation I read was quite civil with the paparazzis. He just told them that if you don't go away I will say that this place/vacation was horrible and probably cause a dip in the tourism .
However he is correct. The paparazzis are making the stay horrible so I agree with him.

I can understand him.
He lost the championship and now wants to have his little holiday outside of the circus. Look at his beard and eyes, he's over stressed and tired.
The reaction may not be overly polite but being chased down must be a big burden.

Irate Alonso clashes with photographers
http://en.espnf1.com/ferrari/motorsp...ory/37374.html
He should vacation in the Americas, specifically N.A. & the Caribbean. He would probably get more peace.
Fernando Alonso has found himself embroiled in a row with his local media after clashing with photographers.
After arriving in a private jet for a holiday on the small Portuguese island of Porto Santo, Alonso lost his temper with a group of paparazzi photographers as he walked through the airport.
A video shows the 29-year-old telling the group in Spanish: "The first photographer or camera I see in the next days, I will leave the next day and tell everyone that Porto Santo is a disaster … "Ok? So please leave us alone." He then gave a thumbs-down gesture.
The footage was featured in local news coverage, with some reporting that Alonso has been even more aggressive on occasions.
His next official engagement is Ferrari's traditional Wroom event in the Italian Dolomites.

But haters always wants to turn it as bad as possible. If there is a breed of people you are allowed to be rude to it is paparazzi.
No I think Alonso did right. He needs all the rest he can get for next season... otherwise Polo will bawl all the time

Rome Grand Prix unlikely
http://www.stamfordmercury.co.uk/new...kely_1_2123417
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali has poured cold water on the prospect of Rome staging a grand prix in the near future.
A race through the streets of the Eternal City has long been on the agenda, although logistically there are difficulties. Renowned circuit designer Hermann Tilke has proposed a track in the EUR (Esposizione Universale Roma) district, south of the city, but there is considerable opposition from local residents.
Domenicali, however, feels Formula One's own logistics will prove a barrier, believing an ever-growing calendar will ensure no country can host two grands prix per year.
With the Italian Grand Prix contracted to Monza through to 2016, Domenicali, speaking to the official Ferrari website, said: "Our position is very clear and leaves no room for interpretation.
"Our sport is increasingly expanding the number of countries hosting a grand prix and all the teams are in agreement about that.
"Therefore it is inevitable it will no longer be possible to have two races in the same nation.
"It's not the job of the teams who choose where a grand prix is held, that's up to the commercial rights-holder. Everything else is pure speculation."

I don't envy celebs for that reason. they are constantly dogged by paparazzi and never get any peace without having to spend a fortune to get away.
I imagine if I called the cops in that situation saying I was being harassed they'd come cart them all away. Unfortunately if you're a celebrity that's okay. One of the few double standards against celebs in my mind.

ALonso is just a baby. people are losing jobs etc, but only thing he is complaiin about is people taking pics of him? come on he needs to grow up and just ignore them. He acts like people care if he tinks so and such place sucks. Sorry alonso you are not the messiah, there is only one and we know who that is (Heikki Kovalainen[70)
