Motorsport IS dangerous. You can't put safety first over an extent or it will become just a parade as you said, or some "regularity" event or how they're called in english!
That's also why I like undercar aerodynamics more than the various wing setups. The whole "the following car has no grip because of the turbulence" problem is solved.

The blown diffuser was a result of that. it worked great for red bull and their flex front wing made the car superior to the rest of the field. I'm very interested to see how they will cope without it next year.
