Hamilton leads both practice sessions 1 and 2 in Canada. Ferrari looked strong in practice 2 with both drivers posting strong times. Vettel was 2nd quickest in practice 1.

Grosjean did a most tremendous drive as well. I wonder how the tire use during qualifying compared between him and Alonso who drove his heart out but did not get quite the result he may have wanted.

I'm not sure how many tires they used in qualifying but if they had any fresh rubber left they took the wrong choice not to pit and get better grip. McLaren still blundered in the pit stops slightly but had a great outcome. I am not sure why Jensen is having such a hard time this year.

Nigel Mansell learns how to play an F1 video game in mere minutes. Not bad for an old driver .

He should have pitted either right before or just after hamilton.
In that case Vettel would have probably kept going... 2nd or 3rd place was really within reach. Dumb, dumb, dumb domenicali!

I was wondering what the outcome was with Vettel and now I see he stopped again on lap 63 for tires and ended up in in P4.

I think some teams gambled that there would be a wreck requiring the pace car that would slow the pace down for a few laps. That would have totally played into the hands of the 1 stop strategists. They would be looking genius right now.

^^Very true!!! Usually Canada has a ton of carnage. I was very surprised that just about everyone finished. Actually, wasn't that a record for that track...to have over 20 cars finish??

Unfortunately. Unless Mazda says another RX-8 is coming at some point, growth momentum is questionable here.

Not only growth but evolution is at stake now.
The community is going backwards, forgetting about previous achievments and asking the same basic questions all over again.

This in turn reduces the stimulus for most members to keep writing.

Off-Topic: I don't think the next rotary car will be called an RX8.

Peter Sauber says Formula 1 better and more exciting than ever
Sauber says Formula 1 better than everFormula 1 has never been better or more exciting than it is now, reckons Peter Sauber.

Having produced seven different winners from the seven races held so far - and teams having had to work hard to unlock the secrets to Pirelli's 2012 rubber – F1 has got used to witnessing some unpredictable grands prix.

Ferrari says Perez's podium in Canada was helped by him taming his aggression
Sergio Perez, SauberFerrari believes that Sergio Perez's return to form in the Canadian Grand Prix was helped by him learning to tame his aggression.

Up until last weekend's race in Montreal, the Mexican had not scored a point since he finished runner-up to Fernando Alonso at the Malaysian Grand Prix back in March.

That run of disappointment prompted talks between the Sauber driver and Ferrari Driver Academy head Luca Baldisserri to work out exactly what was happening.

LOL I am a lurker. I read this thread every time I come onto this forum. That was one of the most entertaining races I've watched in a while. And I happen to catch myself saying that a few times already this year! 7 races, 7 different winners and the driver's championship is still tighter than ever in recent memory! SO FREAKING AWESOME! It was so impressive to see Lewis race back up through the field towards the end of the race!

Another disappointing race for Shumacher. I feel bad for him this year. It doesn't seem like his car is reliable enough and it is through no fault of his own. I hated him pre-retirement era, but I have come to like him since he's come back. I just wish he could have a good race like his team mate is.

^^ I feel the same way about Schumi...couldn't stand him back when he was in red, but now...hell, i've been rooting for him since his comeback. I was telling a buddy of mine at the end of last season that I'd be willing to put money on the fact that Schumi will do well this year and Webber is going to give Seb a real run for the money....guess one out of 2 aint bad, LOL. This has been a great season so far; however, I'm not doing any of those fantasy games....it's just so damn random this year, I don't even want to bother predicting anything.

Ditto. I hated Shumacher with a passion when he was in red. But post retirement, with the press criticizing his comeback and ability. I feel like he is treated unfairly and I like cheering for the underdog. I sincerely hope Shumacher will have his first win this year. In the three years since coming out of retirement, he's finally been given the car capable of winning. If only the team could sort out his reliability issue.

When he qualified on pole position in Monaco, Ross Brawn cried when he congratulated Michael. No one knows better than what Michael has been through and reminded him back when they were so dominant working for Ferrari.

OH MAAAN I KNOW!!! I was absolutely SCREAMING at the TV during his lap!! Sucks, the one time he does get pole, he has to go to the back of the grid...damn it!! But yeah, I love an underdog. Last year pissed me off soooo bad when Vettle was kicking Mark's butt all year long...I just felt bad for the guy. So now I'm totally excited to see him back up front. I'm a Hamilton fan, but seeing Webber win the drivers championship wouldn't dissapoint me one bit
