Spa 'till 2015:
'Belgian Grand Prix secure until 2015 season' - GPUpdate.net

That's good news, good news indeed!

I have spent a good hour reading Mark Webber's interviews. He may not be the fastest driver but he surely is a true gentleman and a very smart man. He also matured later than most other drivers so it wouldn't surprise me to see him race for other 3 or 4 seasons.
Having good characters like him does only good to the sport we all love.

These are wise words you have spoken sir. It is SO much more important to have 'content' to your character than to be a skilled ***. In all the high paying positions we find people that are full of themselves somehow thinking they are better than others. Being a gentleman is under-rated in this world. Hats off to Mr Webber.

Paul.

Marussia reports further progress for De Villota
It is now eight days since Maria De Villota’s accident at Duxford Airfield in her debut test for the Team. In a further release of information by Marussia, the team says that the Spanish driver is making good progress despite the severe injuries she suffered at the Duxford test.

New F1 deals for Singapore and Spa[/B]
Singapore's Today newspaper is quoting Bernie Ecclestone saying that a new five year Singapore GP deal has been agreed until the end of 2017. The news comes in the same week that the iconic Spa circuit is believed to have struck a three-year deal safeguarding the Belgian GP until the end of 2015.

Ecclestone insists London GP plans are 'no joke'
When Bernie Ecclestone spoke about his desire to host a grand prix on the streets of London last month few saw it as anything more than another example of him floating a vision that was never likely to get off the ground. The more cynical pointed out the timing owed more to the need to deflect attention onto something - anything -but him in the light of the jailing of Gerhard Gribkowsky.

But speaking to the Guardian, Ecclestone insists he is serious and is already working on the scheme.

Wait wait, I don't understand why Kobayashi was fined???? Obviously it was a really bad incident, but it was clearly a mistake, an "incident"vas they say, rather than a purposeful recklessness. It obviously only hurt him and his team, no one else. And he didn't brake any rules as far as speed limit in the pits.
It was an unfortunate mistake, obviously, but I don't understand why there would be a penalty...

It was a mistake that could have been prevented. People were hurt, not seriously. But, it could have been serious.

Marussia: No car problem in de Villota crash - GPUpdate.net
Same here Al...

The real problem is that they shouldn't allow drivers without the proper license and skills near a F1 car.
They should also forbid tests on non fia-compliant tracks.
They allow shitty teams to take part to the races and that's what happens.

from: 'Car not to blame for de Villota accident'
"An external forensic investigation was commissioned and carried out at Duxford Airfield (a FIA-approved and much used testing venue, compliant with the recommendations for a test of this nature) and with the team at the Marussia Technical Centre in Banbury. This external analysis has been carried out autonomously of the team's own internal investigation.

I said "track" for this reason Al. No matter how safe an airfield is... you wouldn't have trucks on a proper track given the pit facilities etc

It's all fun 'till someone loses an eye.

Lack of testing = long time to get back from a serious accident.

I like your color commentaries.
I find it stupid that teams can't change their setups after qualifying. It is an insult to the sport.
