Yeah Blazen....Groshean is going to have to do some mighty fancy driving to keep his ride at Lotus. Doesn't help that he has Kimi right next to him....kicking his butt!!! I'd like to see Heiki get another shot at the sharp end of the grid...him and Grossjean, hahahaha, could totally swap.

LOL...Woody Woodpecker, LOL....yeah that car was a piece wasn't it. I don't know what was worse...the Williams or the new BAR!! Baaaaaad timing. Sucks, he had serious talent. You know you're car is FKD up when a Minardi puts a lap on you, hahahahahahah

I don't care for kovalainen too much. Didn't do anything special at McLaren at the time. Kinda like trulli. They just miss that little bit extra that makes a driver better than the car he drives. Alonso being the best example this season. If I was running a team I'd have Alonso and Hamilton driving. Vettel is proving that he isn't that great either, it was all the car. Massa could have won the championship in that thing last year. Hell even karthikayan! And I consider him the worst on the grid.

Hamilton is the guy i'd count on for a single race, Alonso would be my choice for a whole championship.
Vettel is a very good driver... he is probably just feeling too much pressure and he needed some time to get used to a conventional rear diffuser.
All in all they're still the top 3 drivers with Button being a very close second with his consistency greatly helping. Raikkonen is a big question mark. Is it the car or is it him?
Maldonado and Perez are interesting to follow as well, GrossJohn is french... i can only dislike him.

My top 3 is Alonso Schumacher Hamilton. Followed by raikonnen. If Schumacher had a competitive car and not so much bad luck he'd still be winning. If the team hadn't screwed up he would have won China. I know it won't happen but I'd give my left nut to see schumi in massa's car next year just to see what's what. I think it would be very close. As far as vettel is concerned, he is a good driver but not better than the previous 4 I mentioned. In equal equipment he'd lose to them. And button (save for Canada last year) is boring. Like coulthard was. Doesn't take risks and doesn't really attack unless he absolutely knows he has it. If Hamilton does go to Mercedes I want kobayashi in the McLaren. He to me is the biggest unsung hero on the field. I love watching him race.

And button hasn't been consistent at all to be honest. A win then crap till last weekend. He got so lucky that Hamilton and Alonso got taken out. Button is given way too much credit IMO. His championship was all the car. Like vettel's last year was.

...and the year before. I buddy of mine is a big Vettle fan, but quite fankly, "he just hasn't earned it yet baby" Hell, I think Webber is a stronger driver than Vettle..., granted the results say differently, but I agree, I can't see Vettle winning a race starting from the mid field. And as much as I hate to admit it, because I'm reeeeealy not much of an Alonso fan, but he's one of those guys that can drive a **** poor car to a podium. I've never been a Schumacker fan.....until he came back. Now I'd love to see Schumi get a couple wins. Actually, it wouldn't bother me at all to see him win the championship....just so he can finally shut everybody up about his age.
yeah, my top 3 CURRENT drivers are Alonso, Hamilton, Schumi. Kartikayen....what a JOKE!!! I don't think he would even crack the top 10 in a McLaren. I will say this though, Kartikayen is in a really good spot...he's in a crap car, nobody expects much, he gets to drive around on some of the worlds greatest tracks....what more could anyone want....that is, if you don't care about winning, LOL. I like Button...but nothing is really standing out about him...other than his consistency...which hasn't been there lately. Ferrari was right, he would be a great No. 2 for Alonso. And yeah, I like Kobayashi..guy has some fast damn hands!! I think I started liking him last year when he was jumping the curb in Signapor...I think it was Signapor...the night race...with the track that had those funky orange curbs...dude was FLYING over those darn things....till he flew into the wall. But yeah, he's pulled off some incredible saves..he'll be one to watch, for sure

All the top drivers have stated that Hamilton is the quickest, very quick or the person they view as their toughest competition. He is showing lapses in judgement and levels of immaturity. He is not the complete driver. Vettel cries like a baby whenever things are not working out and celebrates with finger boasting when he's on top, but THE BOY CAN DRIVE! He has attained a mental level that allows for smoothness and calm combined with raw skill and growing experience that allows him to achieve pole at will with the fastest car and sometimes without the fastest car. Button is not quite as good. He will do it almost only with the best car, but he is talented and level headed as well as humble (I love humble people). Fernando has skill on the level of the best, stays calm just as much as is necessary and can win with less than optimum. I maintain that he is the most well rounded and I suspect that he is one of the best at giving feedback for the engineers. It's funny though because not too many years ago he did MUCH worse than Lewis' telemetry tweet when he participated in McLaren 'Spygate' and practically blackmailed his own team, BUT THE BOY CAN DRIVE! Kimi is never satisfied and never joyful. He is highly skilled but wants the car to be set up absolutely perfectly. He is definitely a 'glass half empty' person. Schumi is still very talented but his best days are behind him.
Of the new crop, Grosjean really has potential and a pleasant demeanor but needs to pay attention (Especially peripherally). I think he will get pole or win soon. Maldanado has skill but an overly aggressive style that needs modification. Perez seems to have promise as well.
Paul.

Yeah Paul, that was some nasty business while Alonso was at McLaren and the info he got on the tires...I think it was about the tires on the Ferrari or how the Ferrari uses the tires? Anyway, wasn't Gene and De la Rosa involved in that mess as well?

But if you saw how Alonso got treated at McLaren I can understand it. I especially liked how he held Hamilton up in the pit just long enough to ruin his qualifying lol! Ron was exploding and Fernando just walked past him. If I didn't know any better I'd say McLaren was a German team. Very strict, very clean. I think it has to do with the way Hamilton is now after all he literally got raised at McLaren. If he ever got to a team like Ferrari with heart and soul I think Hamilton would act very different. I can't wait for Saturday qualifying!

Yeah, Saturday is gonna be good....provided it doesn't get rained out!! I love that track...Monaco, Monza, Spa....some of my absolute favorites...I love the night races too...but the 3 above are just timeless...classics. Funny thing, my newborn son...actually, he's about 8 mos old now, but he LOVES F1..it's the sound!! When I get up to feed him on race weekends we sit in front of the tv and as soon as the commentators stop gabbin and you can only hear the cars, he completely stops eating and watches it...no joke, he'll sit there and watch it until a commercial comes on, and he goes right back to eating...funny as hell!!! THAT'S MA BOY!!!, HAHAHAHAH

Speed gives decent coverage here in the states. But being Dutch born and raised on formula one, I call out 95% of what's happening out before the commentators do lol. My wife loves that. F1 2012 is coming out next Tuesday. I can't wait!

Lewis did not seem cheerful about his pole position, which leads me to believe that there is something else going on in his mind (Team switch maybe?).
The race will be interesting as there are some strong people up front. We'll see if Lewis concentrates on Jenson at the start allowing Felipe a chance to jump position. Michael will be interesting to observe as well.
Fernando was confident that he could have beaten the pole time, so we'll see his pace tomorrow.
Both Red Bulls struggled during pratices and qualifying but they are no slouches during a race and Vettel managed to hoist himself into a strong enough starting spot. His goal will be to podium.
I'm excited.
