Fernando will have some work to do tomorrow. But having Massa in front of him, he might be able to help out and slow some people down allowing Fernando to catch up if he doesn't jump a few at the start already. If the Mclaren boys get away clean and build an early lead it'll be fighting who gets third. I'm quietly hoping Schumacher will jump a few at the start (we saw Fernando go from the second row to first last year) and use his superior top speed to hopefully a win. But if I look at it logically, with no wreck at the start, my top three predictions are Hamilton, Button and Alonso. With a wreck who knows what will happen. It's always a shame this race is over so quickly.

Suspension damage right when you don't need it...
I would send a team order to massa to hit vettel at the beginning and form a pile up.

Oh, don't worry about it. I just won't come in here until I want to get caught up. I know there will be spoilers in the racing threads.

Great start, especially for Ferrari. They are driving a great race in general. The Tifosi are pleased .

McLaren was looking unstoppable until what appears to be a fuel supply problem for Button from 2nd put him out.

Perez is driving like a beast.

And then there was Webber. Not the day for Red Bull.

Great race. Glad to see Massa 4th.
Vettel is an idiot, he almost killed Alonso, the guy who could teach senna how to drive.

Wow, Tifosi sure are rude. I'm watching the crowd during the speeches. I guess they are passionate to applaud who they like and passionate to boo those they do not like.

That's how we roll...
If we put so much anger towards our government instead of useless activities we would be on top of this situation

I tried to watch the race last night twice. I couldn't stay awake. I'll give it a shot again tonight.

One of the better races this season. As said before, Vettel is an idiot. Squeezing someone is one thing, pushing completely off track at 190/200 mph quite another. He came off easy with just a drive through. I was expecting a ten second stop-n-go penalty. But in the end it didn't matter. Man of the day was without doubt Perez. Fantastic drive. He'll be wearing Ferrari colors in February at the first test I'm sure. The way Mercedes was flying at the end of the race was a joy to see. 2 laps more and Michael would have passed Kimi. 2 stop strategy seems to be the way to go for the silver arrows. The car just doesn't like heavy fuel loads it seems. Maybe if refueling was still allowed we'd see Mercedes a lot higher in the point standings. Alonso and Massa did great. Especially Alonso driving a car home with severe damage to the underside aero and rear suspension. what he's done so far this season, I've rarely seen a more deserving world champion. No matter what the points total says in November, he's it.

The main difference between him and the other champions is that he really wants more. He will probably never be happy. That's the way to go!

I don't know, I think for the first time in his career he IS happy. At McLaren and Renault he was a different person. He seems truly happy at Ferrari. Another championship isn't a matter of if but a matter of when and he knows it. I loved how he was interacting on the podium. Especially where he took the camera. BSE I read in another thread you are a formula one driver? Would you mind telling which one? I hope it isn't the internet being the internet.... Lots of people pretending.

See I was thinking that but hey anything is possible lol! The rx-8 would probably be the grocery getter in an Italian F1 driver's garage next to the prancing horse, raging bull, Pagani and Bugatti :-P

Alternator failure? I remember, back in the 80's, I think it was Honda that would have smoke and oil coming out the exhaust and the official reason for retirement was electrical problem. It happened so often it became a standing joke. Is Renault doing the same? Why does it happen to Red Bull and not Renault cars?

Well Vettel was left without battery\electricity during FP3 so it makes sense in his case.
Ferrari admitted that they didn't know if Alonso could finish the race after his off road moment... the car apparently sustained damages to the underbelly and diffuser. Yet he managed to finish 3rd.

Webber took himself out of contention.

Meanwhile kubica... Kubica wins on return to motor racing - GPUpdate.net

Grosjean retired in Valencia for the same reason. They replaced the alternator on dambrosio and a caterham after qualifying. I read it's an overheating problem and with the hot races coming up, this could get interesting.

Ferrari did a great job at improving (or undersanding...) the car they built. McLaren is the same... they improved what was an average car overall to make it the best on the grid.

I think there's a reason why most f1 fans route for one or the other team. RedBull didn't impress at all besides their 2 year span. Mercedes still has last year's tyre problems... and Lotus is a Renault so no complaints there, a good car driven by crazy good drivers.
