What i have learnt from this season:
Redbull has 4 cars on the grid since toro rosso always let Vettel and Webber pass easily.
Schumacher gave the position to Vettel.
Vettel, being bernie's pet, can overtake with the yellow flags on without receiving a drive thru penalty.
I liked all this favoritism more when it was towards ferrari

Honestly Massa deserves a contract for life after today. The drives he put in in the last few races were fantastic. His start today was amazing. Blocking various guys, overtaking webber and Vettel when it counted, dropping back a 12 second gap to Alonso, best teammate ever.

I'm sorry i bashed him when he wasn't scoring any points at the beginning of this season, he's really a great driver. Next year we may not know who the number 1 is at ferrari if he begins the season in the same way he ended this one.

Alonso blamed grosjean for losing the championship in spa. I tend to agree. Under normal circumstances he would have grabbed 4 points there. Ofcourse Japan didn't help, both with raikkonen and Vettel impeding his fastest qualy lap. But hindsight is 20/20. It's a miracle he even got this close. If McLaren had their reliability together it would have been a three way battle.

Will there be a "Spanish" GP next year?

Funny I saw the Ferrari International Assistance working overtime today.
Drive through for Hulkenberg when it helped Alonso greatly and was totally unneeded and a complete racing incident.
Random Nascar like safety car for "track debri" after Alonso called for it, again helping Alonso by grouping back up the cars and negating the 40 second lead by Hulkenberg and Button. You can argue that one all you want, I have seen other races this season where they let the debris clear on its own.
I did not see an investigation nor a drive through for Senna when he spun Vettel. (Granted his race ended with Sebs hit)
Michael did hand Seb P6 even though it was not needed. P7 worked just fine.
I was amazed that the Red Bull made it to the end, I wondered if that exhaust bang would be an engine problem in the long run.
Fantastic exciting race all the way through.
I had not seen all the interviews yet, they got clipped off, I only saw the podium, I am sure speed had a lot more since this is their last race covered. I really hope Will Buxton gets picked up at NBC, it does lot look like it and I will miss drinking beers with him in Montreal every year.

Edit * Mark Webber is the worst #2 driver ever. He did his best to ruin Sebs day and even after not putting up a fight for once when Seb came up on him, he still put them all in a dicey situation pushing his point into a corner. At least Alonso has his little lapdog Massa that does what he is told.

There have been plenty of races where debris caused flats and no safety car was deployed. Alonso called for it and got it. Right after his pit stop and causing a 40 second gap to vaporize.
Vettel lost places having to drop back in order to avoid his useless teammate at the start, something you do in order to preserve your car, something Senna should learn how to do.
That is rich, Vettel now needs to look after the cars behind him and make sure they have room.
The yellow was already addressed during the race, it was another set of lights warning the track condition was dangerous and to use caution, it was not a Yellow being thrown due to a on track incident where you cannot pass. While I have never seen it before and did not know it existed before this race, it is Ferrari's job to know these things, shame on them for being ignorant of something they should know.
The Hulkenberg drive through did nothing but help Alonso and hand him 2nd place, well, it handed Massa, the lap dog, second, which was akin to handing Alonso it.
We can argue for the next week, but it comes down to this:
Despite break after break for Alonso and one bad turn after another for Sebastian, it still came down to Alonso needing a win and Seb finishing outside the points. Seb kept his head down, even with a damaged car that was **** in the dry, and no radio to communicate, bad tire calls on the teams part, a team mate hell bent on ruining his race, etc. etc...
Yet, here we are, the 3rd time in history ever, a 3 time in a row WDC, joining Schumacher and Fangio in the record books.
It must be a shitty day for all the haters. I am off to have a nice single barrel bourbon and celebrate this Energy Drink Dominance in motorsports.![Big Grin](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Oh, and that entire Adrian Newey shlep is getting old, the car was **** at the start of the season and has had its share of failures, when everyone starts going back to Alonso's let down races where he was wrecked out remember Sebs car let him down too, and now that the season is over, Seb admits the car was rubbish most of the season and they worked their asses off to get it right.
Would have loved to have heard this exchange.

There's a very simple rule in F1. As soon as the passer (Senna) has his front wing next to or in front of the rear wheel of the car being passed (Vettel) that car cannot slam the door. It has been penalized all year. Vettel caused his own spin. Even other drivers said so. There's a YouTube of Alan McNish about it. Nothing Vettel haters say or do, it's what experts like him say. You look through Vettel
Colored glasses. Everything is an attack on Vettel and helping Alonso out. Quite ridiculous. Vettel was at fault and should have been penalized. Plain and simple. Hulkenberg didn't deserve a penalty but since he did get one, Vettel should have definetly gotten one. You really think one driver or team can tell the FIA what to do? It's their job to relay safety issues to their teams which in turn relay it to Charlie Whiting. You have a radio for each team? Because I'll bet you Alonso wasn't the only one who called for it, just the only one we heard. Big difference. But again it's the Vettel conspiracy clouding your judgment.

Old Webby baby did a few fluff ups, I thought he may retire, however he is back testing here for 2013.
Paul, when do you think the US will find/fund a US born driver good enough to compete and win in F1?
It has been a long time since Phil Hill...
Aussies have two currently...I think my US M8's should start a campaign to even it up..![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
What do ya reckon...digger!?..![Eyetwitch](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/eyetwitch.gif)
What future US drivers/names could you through into the ring for F1?

I tried to find this Alan McNish video you speak of on You Tube but my searches turn up nothing.
Here you go, on boards from both cars.

Your hatred for Vettel is clouding your thinking. The Vettel / Senna incident was as much a race incident as the Hulkenberg one was.
But hey, lets keep hashing this out, maybe they will take the WDC away from Seb.
There have been some WDCs in the past I was not fond of, but you cannot deny when someone racks up enough points to win. This season especially.
Vettel would have to be passing Senna then, oops! Senna was trying to pass Vettel. So then Senna needs to take care and give room if the pass cannot be made, which he did not. There goes that rule out the window.

Whatever..![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I am not a Vettel liker, but you have to hand it to the guy he has skill and big *****, sometimes gets him into trouble.
At least the kid gives it a shot, and is a favored driver by ''officials'', to come from the rear of the grid with a damaged machine like he did in poor weather was very special.

While this is addressed to Paul, I'm going to answer. You must have forgotten about Dan Gurney & Mario Andretti. Many others have had podium finishes (Mark Donohue, Richie Ginther, Peter Revson, Michael Andretti, Danny Sullivan, George Follmer & Eddie Cheever)
