The new season starts with testing and new model releases in a few weeks. I'm excited already.

i must admit that Kimi Raikkonen behind the wheel of a Ferrari is a good reason to watch some race this year.

Agree with the Kimi comment, gonna be great.

I wonder who Caterham is going to sign, no official drivers and testing is not far off.

It could be if he doesn't become complacent as he did last time he drove for them.

Bernie on trial!

I think I saw this coming. It will be interesting to see the future of this great sport in the absence of this shrewd and shady character who has done great good and harm for and to it.

Guess who's back, da da da

Big shake up at McLaren, and about time. Ron Dennis is running things again. F1 is getting eventful in the off season.

How Formula One's Amazing New Hybrid Turbo Engine Works
This is a pretty decent description of the new engine configuration.

Even after reading that, the turbo side of the engine still confuses me a bit.

Ugly, ugly, ugly. These cars are pure eyesores.
Ferrari should revert back to its white\red livery. There's too much black on that car.

The cars are 10 seconds slower than last year, and that is with "dedicated winter tyres" from pirelli.

Dont forget that A) teams aren't even going over 10,000rpm in the cars yet. Theyre purposely going slow. This whole week is for troubleshooting really with the final day being done as a wet test day; pirelli will drench the track with water to test the wet tyres. Nobody guns it in testing, especially with engines which, aside from the Ferrari; have not been on track yet.

Another story I heard was that the real reason Marussia's car wasn't ready was because Max Chilton took it for a shakedown at silverstone on Saturday. It wasn't until this morning that he just passed Copse Corner.

Ahahahaah!
Awesome!

I know they aren't pushing the engines yet but still... i took the times of last year's first day of testing as a reference for the very same reason. I hope to be wrong but these cars are probably 5 seconds slower than last year's... so 8-10 secs slower than the real 3l v10 monsters we all loved.
