One Lap or America 2006 (spoilers)
I'm pretty excited this year. The shop that tuned my car has a car in the event, there's an RX-8 running, and Ron Adee (WI local) has an insane Viper Competition Coupe with a twin turbo Chevy V8 in it making reportedly over 1000whp.
Wet skidpad and the first track events start tomorrow, I'll post updates as they come in.

Event 2 results, if Adee keeps it together this could be a walk.

Thanks Edgardo, always like the story of the events from various drivers perspective. I'm also surprised more people aren't interested, I guess too many people here think the ultimate in amateur racing is driving around a parking lot full of cones
Here's another good site to follow along.

Interesting... well, it seems the RX-8 isn't doing very good.
One of the guys in the 8 is Greg Hagopian who participated in a few One Lap events before - actually, it appears he was doing better with his Ford Probe GT than with the RX-8.
Although they have various categories so it's not clear how the RX-8 is positioned in it's category.
At any rate, this is an interesting race to keep an eye on.

I like the updates. That 8 has some stiff competition in its class like the Elise.
Up north here, I know an 8 is being preped for www.targanewfoundland.com
Should be fun, $4000 and you're in.

Overall Standings thus far
http://onelapofamerica.com/history/2...06&res=OVL_CUM
Pretty impressive how much AMS has improved (moved up 10 spaces in the last couple days) and that the car is holding together, they just finished it the weekend before the event. Also too bad that Luke in the STI had BoV problems, were it not for that he'd be in 3rd or 4th right now. Considering the other cars in the top 10 compared to his car that's simply amazing.
It's looking like who wins is going to be decided in large part on the drag strip and the skidpad, other than that the top 10 are going to stay pretty close to one another on a road course (given no mechanical problems).

Ran wreaked havoc on the standings today with many of the high HP cars. Sadly, the AMS Evo has about the worst tires imagineable for wet conditions. The drag events were called off due to rain as well

Overall standings, looks like with the rain and a couple guys dropping out Davia has wrapped it up for a third year in a row barring a catastrophy.
