Once again, you are incorrect in stating that the OP said his brother was looking for a sedan before I posted. There is nothing to debate on this point, yet you keep debating it.

I also read the Autoblog article at the time of my initial posting in response to the OP on the first page. It's another tidbit teaser ad to announce a new model year. Like the others, it's superficial and intended to sound pollyannish.

You're right, there's nothing to debate. On the 12th post of the first page the OP states:
"$20,500 for a decently equipped new family sedan doesn't seem to bad to me, but perhaps you have other thoughts?"
Two posts later on the 14th post of the first page you start your nonsense.

I disagree. The extended discussion precipitated by my comments will only help the OP and others, aside from the personal attacks, which don't belong but are always present on car forums.

Two things I've offered. One, a carmaker's history of behavior is an important factor to consider. The OP and others were not previously aware of Nissan's track record from Ghosn's master cost-cutting plan since before eight years ago. Years ago, there were many big expose articles not on a particular Nissan model but rather on Ghosn's master plan and how he brought Nissan back from the brink of destruction.

Two, there is some complexity in interpreting magazine articles, and it takes some experience in the nuanced history and culture of the industry and the print media industry, etc. For example, during this economic downturn, positive reviews by American car mags of American cars must be viewed with caution, discretion, and skepticism, especially Motor Trend, which has a history of lionizing American cars that turned out to be duds and were stated so by the other major car mags.

Yep, I missed it. I saw the long list of cars and the 20,500 sedan but I wasn't sure what it was referring to, when in fact the OP stated 20,500 Altima in his opening post. I failed to make that connection. My bad.

But just a little bit later still on the first page when the OP EXPLICITLY stated that he was interested in the sedan and the reviews were mostly positive, I still responded that imo those articles must be viewed with caution. I have repeatedly stated that articles that are tidbit first glimpses, all positive/neutral, and superficial must be viewed with caution.

What I'd like to see and am waiting for is a comprehensive family sedan review between the Accord, Camry, Fusion, Sonata, and Altima. I was surprised when I did an internet search that it doesn't exist. I think that comparison is bound to come out. With regard to this thread's topic, I would be looking for detailed comparisons on ride, suspension, and handling balance (not so much handling performance). If comments on the Altima are comparatively positive there, then great.

I agree, a head-to-head comparo would be the best information as far as making a purchasing decision. You'd think this would be something that's already been done with the volume of sales in this class. Not the type of article that's going to make a cover though.
