As far as your original questions to us... The oil in piston engines does not enter the combustion chamber as a vapor. It does not get there through pcv either. It makes its way up there via the crankcase, up the cylinder wall from below as it is thrown around by the crankshaft and piston rods. It then finds its way beyond the piston rings because they are not continuous, solid rings; there is a small gap that allows the rings to be compressed when installing the pistons. They then expand after installing to provide a reasonable seal.
Basically, their shape looks more like a "C" than an "O", if that helps you to visualize how oil can get past the piston rings.

If motor oil meets industry standards, there isn't much difference amongst them I'd be willing to bet (for MOST applications especially).
I'd be surprised if most of us don't have a favorite oil. And most of us don't fully understand the technical information we've used to base our decisions.
However, in this case, for an engine known to have carbon build up, a premium product claims to perform in an area better than other products that are its competitors. And I'd be almost willing to bet it does as advertised.
Now does this enhanced burning performance add any real value to the life and performance of the typical car? I don't know.
Does this enhanced burning performance add any real value to an RX-8 engines life through decreased carbon build up?
I don't know that either.
What I think I know is RX-8 rotaries do fail due to carbon buildup and if that buildup is contributed to by the fact it burns some oil.
And the likelihood of this product adding value is much higher in rotaries than in piston engines.
