Well, like I have said, I will reserve final judgment until I can see one in person. But from what I have seen in photos, it misses the mark for me. The front end is nice, very nice, but the profile just kills it for me.
Of course, I also don't really care for the Audi R8 either, to be honest. But of course that's all my opinion and everyone is welcome to disagree with me.

Overall, a rear mounted engine has never made much sense to me, but in the 911s it actually works. I would kill to get my hands in a GT3 RS, not a turbo or a cabrio, the gt3 is the one a proper car enthusiast would have.

when you keep that same style for a long time you really work out all the little bugs that fail in the past, if the auto makers stayed with the same car style for years to come, it will be perfect? maybe i say but i dunno

Please don't compare the beauty of an R8 to this abomination. The R8 is sexy in pictures, and sexier in person. The Panamera has the styling of a turtle.

Very true, but this was more a subjective comparison of sexiness for their respective car classes.

I wasn't comparing the cars...just the odd nature of their styling in the sense that they look better in person and that you can't make an honest judgement until you see it for yourself. LOL

Before widespread reviews, I figured it was going to drive well and sounds like it is a great sedan to drive. Too bad it is so awkward and ugly in the rear. In this case function over form as Porsche wanted to actually fit 4 people and their luggage.
It says everything that official Porsche photos show the awkward rear as little as possible.
But then again the same thing could be said about the RX-8....

The Panamera is sex in person. I attended a car Show for the county medical society last Thursday and this car is amazing. Big but it definitely has my boss thinking about trading in his S55. They also had a little BMW SUV (X5) I think in an M version with 555HP!!!! and a sweet SC Audi S4.

Did anyone see the Panamera commercial on TV yet? They blatantly lie. "the first true sports car for four". 4000 lb station wagons with auto trannys are not more of a sports car than the RX8...sorry Porsche.

Yeah not sure the Panamera can really be defined but it would definitely whoop an RX8 in any category.

And did I miss something, or hasn't the M5 existed for quite a while? I know it's not a "true" sports car (whatever the hell that means), but it's a 4-door car that blows the doors off of most other things on the road. Porsche is acting like nobody ever thought to make a powerful fast 4 door car before.
Also, the CTS-V. That thing is a monster for $35,000 less.

Let's not make this a comparison because you could buy five or six RX8's for the price of a Panamera but honestly, yes the Panamera would beat the 8 in every category.

Well, no that's not what I said, considering that the ring, like most tracks, is going to require acceleration on straights as well, so...no, I am not saying the 8 would win on the ring. That's not what I am saying at all. The final straight alone would be catastrophic for the 8. The Porsche would be going like 190 and the 8 might get to 145 ish.
