Since the RX8 has an eletric pump and it shows it has a filter, where is the filter located? My steering comes and go's Any suggestions??

 

It is an electrical noise filter, not a conventional fluid filter.
It is next to the EPS computer in the PCM case under the hood.

They never go bad, so I'm not sure what you are looking for.

 

Clean the connection? Check for signs of coolant overflow??

Perhaps I should be more specific. Have you tried cleaning the connections to the power steering. There are a few threads around if regarding it. The coolant overflow is pointed directly at the power steering wiring harness. It has been known to cause complications with the connections and damage to the wiring harness. I had to have my harness replaced for this exact reason. A little contact cleaner should be all you need. Might as well extend that overflow house and clean your maf while you are at it.

This could be a cheap 5 dollar solution to your problem. I believe it has helped others in the past.

 

I seriously thought you meant the power steering fluid :P
