yup we're moving along,,, Moon is just refining the frame with Frank and I'll post some new sketches tonite...
Im really excited to do some more sketch work after being re-inspired by RE Amemiya's new 7 body that he built inspired from Mazda's design team ie the Furia, Taikai etc etc...
its all about the power to wieght ratio...

i am super hyped about this project, n i not even a part of it. this is far beyond a "kit car" or a t-rex type of unit. this is pure inovation. pure genius with a atom bomb of rotary godlyness. I really eager for to b able to stand nere it n take a picture of it. Pure art.

took a little different direction,,,
This new series of sketches explored a 'fang down' design instead of the previous 'grin' look inspired by the Furai...
Next set of sketches will explore the back a bit more and the ducting for the engine and the body between the cockpit to the tail wing...
Really liked the look of the new RE Amemiya 7 that debuted at the TAS,,,
The design is simular to what Im looking at, it seems Amemiya San was inspired by the Mazda design team as well with the Furai and the Takai...

Im gonna be sculpting the body,,,
Right now Im figuring out where I need to split the body panels to make manageably small molds...
The sticky part is Im in Baltimore and Moon is in the Keys...
If I was closer to the frame as it is being built I could get some esact dimensions off it and take it into CAD...
I may still do this when it gets up here, then I can build the body in 3D and machine the foam, then glass over it...
Ive been doin some research locally and there is a shop a little up the road that makes molds for CF pretty decently priced...
some panels may be CF to offset the colored panels...

The scetches are looking good Greg. The only thing is I dont think were gona go withought a top. Or like I said before making the doors wrap over the top and have tubing across the center to support the roll cage and stiffen the chassis. Also it rains down here atleast once a day in the spring and summer.

looking good guys nice work, sketches are looking great!
plus with the 3 wheels you are not classified a car (is it classified as a motorcycle?) and get around a lot of DOT standards for road legal car sales. this will let you have the car be street legal being sold fully assembled and not as a kit car.

Things are comming along very well. Its time to button up the suspension and the steering. The next step is mounting the linkages and shocks. If you look close at those pictures at the spot that im mounting the linkage and shock you can see sharpy lines, thats the planned section for removal.
Ive ordered 1 3/4" stock to start on frame #2 wich will have the single rotor and 6 speed baker tranny with reverse. #2 is starting in about the same fasion but the powertrain and rear swingarm will be the starting point. Im purchasing each part on #2 to get an idea on how much the production costs are going to be. Things like the front A arms are going to be produced inhouse since I cant find a source that can build what I want. #1 is going to be prettymuch the test car to dial in everything. The planned HP output will be about the same with the NA settup, just more TQ with the single rotor. Cam put a full size Borla exaust on his kart, that 400cc single rotor engine sounds beast, I cant wait to hear a single 650cc.

I 2nd that, I also like the front sketch to the left of that and the more pointy look of the front side with the ducting. Keep in mind that the bigger the outlet of the duct the more down force and less drag. Can you move the rear spoiler foward of the rear wheel, it will put the down force more to the center, im afraid if its that far back and up it could make the front a little bit light, just a thought.

Estimated 50 to 60 MPG. Cam had a first gen with a single. The new owner gets 34 MPG and thats in a 2100 pound car with a turbo.

OK after a brief discussion with Moon tonite it seems that a fair thing to do is offer multiple packages based off the same platform. Three in particular come to mind. First Base model- this would be a bare bones package that would have the ability to be upgraded later, smaller power, less wieght, less body panels. This could be an exciting package for those interested in track use, autoX or weekend warrior attitude in mind, possibly even open wheeled and open top. Second would be a more readily road going version with closed fenders in the front and more tech thrown in with regards to cockpit accomadations, the ability to ugrade power with the Supercharger and option for hardtop. The third being a road going version as well with the high output standard and all luxuries included(as many as can fit without compromising the ride quality). This would also come with the removeable hardtop, ohhh yeah ALL WHEEL DRIVE, and possible brake upgrade.
Again this is just the beginings of this game plan so advise is welcome always.
More detail of this will come shortly....
