Race with two sport bikes

Race with two sport bikes
They both were riding doubles. We were on the 240 loop in Memphis. I saw single head lights coming real fast from behind me. As they flew by me, I decided to see how close I could come to catching them. We kept it around 100 passing cars up to 130. All three machines were raising hell through Memphis. I was gaining on them. No ****. They could not shake me. As they would weave and and nail it, I would do the same. Cornering at 85-90 around turnpikes, Rx-8 was superior. Freakin tore a hole in their ***. Maybe their backseat riders were prohibiting them from going harder. Don't know what kind of bikes or size, but they were at least 900's. When I came around them around 130, I am sure flames were coming out of my tailpipes. I love this car. From 80 to 150 this thing is bad ***.
Good day

lmao, biggest load of bullshit I've ever read, but it cheered me up. The 8 is great but a bike eater it isn't!
Damn my 7 wouldn't even keep up with bikes being ridden properly

No, its absoluteley true, I raced my litle brother on his BigWheel. On the straights he had the upper hand, but on the twisties. He just couldnt get the traction on those small plastic wheels.

It could be true- but the bikers weren't "racing", they may not have noticed the 8 at all. I often cruise at high speeds - not racing, I'll look down and see I'm doing tripledigit without realizing it. If the bikes wanted to take off they would have smoked all but the fastest cars. Top speed is a different story, but the 8 takes a long time to get over 140mph....

Well I don't believe in any way the Rx-8 is bike killer, but just something to throw ou there.
Consider with another rider on it (2 total) you increase your weight to 133% of what one rider would be. Imagine how that would affect a power to weight ratio. Especially on something that could have well been a 600cc with tiny torque numbers. That combined with the lack of top end on a 600, and many cars probably keep up especially while weaving at high speeds.
Just a thought.

Yep, dumbest thread yet on this site, which is saying much. Some car guys just don't have a clue. While it’s true that an average 160mph top speed of a 600cc sportbike isn't that much higher than an 8, it's the speed it gets there. Current day 600cc’s is doing quarters in the 10 sec. range with traps nearing 130mph...where the 8 is struggling to reach 100mph. And it would be faster if they weren't battling traction or wheelie issues.
Unless your passenger is Andre the Giant...um, when he was alive, the only thing that'll slow most sport bikes is the pilots nerve.

...or if the race started at 40mph with the bike in 6th gear, and the rx8 in 2nd.

Only if you're riding a Japanese I-4 SS bike. If you're riding a V-twin... it'll be a different race.
But that's beside the point. The only person that could ride a bike THAT badly is likely a squid. A quick flick of the wrist, "snickt, snickt" two gears down, blip the throttle and SEE YA! Even on a 400cc bike.

Take it or leave it. It happened. And yes they were running them hard. We were doing 80-130 the entire way. I made gains on them around at the high speeds. I expected to get my *** beat. That did not happen. I think everyone was a bit suprised. They may have not been pushing the bikes thier bikes to the envelope, but they were pushing them. Keep in mind this was not just an all out straight away. We would get behind cars and find a whole, then punch it. So it was a constant jump from 80 to 130. A total of 10 miles or so. I don't give a rats *** if anybody believes me or not. I came, I saw, and I kicked thier ***. If I wanted to sit around and make up things, I would do it at a bar with a hor. You know were your mother is. In all fairness the 8 is not a drag car, its a top end horse. My car is faster from 80 to 150 than it is 0 to 80.
