i don't feel sorry for them at all...i just tried to buy a new mx5 and the dealership refused to deal with me...if they're hurting that bad then maybe they need to actually deal with potential customers instead of trying to steal their trades...almost everybody is hurting in this economy...i wish the government would bail me out...my wages stay the same but everything goes up...things will get much worse before they get better i'm afraid

this is asking for money from the Japanese government not the US for those who havent clicked thru to read the story. And from a program already set up by Japan previously. Mazda was thought to not have to even after Honda Toyota and others announced they would but then the stock started sliding with the surge in the yen. That cut them out of the bond market.
The news today though is that after announcing resuming production on Fridays very soon and going back to full production this summer
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...hI&refer=japan
Mazda's stock has surged and their rating was increased to "BUY" by Deutches bank
http://www.businessweek.com/autos/au..._stock_su.html
which combined with their current low inventory levels might enable them to raise the cash they want without the Govt. aid

Nobody wants the Mazda6 when there is a perfectly reliable, higher quality and more dependab;e Chevy malibu, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura at the GM dealers. Mazda is known as a builder of crap, everyone knows that.
Second worst rating amongst japanese automakers is really no big deal since all japanese automakers are junk.
Buy American. Buy GM. It is your duty
GM is so good thats why its going out of business. yep. I can see that. UAW and gas hog biggest SUV u've ever seen FTMFW !

good info, thanks zoom.
there is definitely a difference between being affected by the world economy (mazda, toyota, etc.) and making complete crap and overpaying employees and not turning a profit, ever!!

-- on the Mazda article, now says this about the BMW 1-series article (here)...
"How about a BMW that’s reliable? Huh? How about a car that doesn’t end up in the junkyard after the warranty expires? How about a car with the qaulity of a Buick Lacrosse or a Cadillac CTS?
LOL, never gonna happen. The Germans aren’t capable of producing anything but ****.
Buy American. Buy GM"
...
wow, if you read his other posts, and posts in reply to him, it's pretty humerous. just got a kick out of it...
