Really need some help*tear* *tear*

Ok the reason for the tears is well i have my dream car right now 04 titanium rx-8 GT ms side skirts and front bumper with 18" stern chrome rims i mean i love everthing about my car and i mean i worked my *** off for it. Now im moving to a new town which the rx8 is just not a good car for and i dont wanna be flipping out if i scrub my bumper or something you know. Well their are other issues but overall i need a reliable car that is classy that i wouldnt mind driving my boss to lunch in, however has good gas mileage is comfortable and not too expensive. I need to find something with few miles on it like less than 25 or 30 preferebly and no more than 27000. Now im really leaning towards the 05 toyota Avalons i like them alot they get 22 mpg town are very comfortable and classy and would probably be very inexpensive for service charges as far as i know. I was also looking at the 03 lexus gs300 which pretty much is the same car. Pretty much im asking for your advice on the 05 avalons and any other cars you may suggest. Anyways thats all i have to say.

Thanks for your help in advance

The 05 avalon is a great "people mover". It's comfortable and has decent power. Plus, it is very luxurious too. Problem is, you won't have as much fun driving the avalon. It's a boat. If you only want a car to get from a to b in a civilized manner, then the avalon fits the bill nicely. It's the perfect daily driver.

Yeah, anything Toyota is a very safe bet as far as good, reliable and nice transportation. Only problem that seems to plague them is the almost scary lack of feedback in the steering. I guess I've been spoiled driving cars with a nice tight steering setup my whole life, but I've never felt totally in control of a Toyota product. I'm sure I'd learn to live with that though, so I'd say give it a drive and if you're okay with it, go for it - should be a great car.

Im having a hard time understanding your definition of 'classy'. AFAIC, the avalon is anything but classy. Going from a sporty car to that kind of car would put me in immediate depression.

You consider 22mpg good gas mileage...you can get a lot of cars that can achieve that mpg. Whatever, why haven't you looked at the MS6?

MS6 is that the mazda 6? im sorry but if i went from rx-8 to mazda 6 i would miss my rx8 way too much i want something thats not going to remind me of what i gave up every 5 mins. And 22 mpg is better than the rx8 i dont need incredible gas mileage just good gas mileage. And i am dreading changing cars but it has to happen. I do not need something fast i will always remember my 8 as a car for me but i am trying to think as a car shopper and not comparing everything to the rx8.

The ms6 is the mazdaspeed 6. It is faster then the 8 and just as luxurious. You will miss your 8 no matter what car you buy. There just isn't anything like the 8 period. Although the avalon might be a great car, it's not a car that inspires the soul. It is souless . I think that you might want to check out a used bmw 330. They're great cars that have all the luxuries and sport needed for a daily driver.

I think getting the 6 would be too much heartache and a reminder every time you see the Mazda badge. You ought to get something like the Avalon because it seems more suited to your current needs.

used bmw 3 series is my vote its classy and performs very well and out handles the rx8 in some categories you might not even miss it. impresses the lame brand concious people... just keep in mind they are exceedingly expensive to maintain. my family has a bmw, little parts that cost 50 bucks on a normal car can cost hundreds on a bmw. Its also sort of prone to electric problems, window motor is one of the common things to go bad. luckily the drivetrain is very reliable. BMW customer service is very good, they provide loaners and try their best to make things convenient for their customers.

The Nissan Maxima is a little sportier than an Avalon, is a good/reliable car and has a great engine. Mazda 6 is a good choice as well. However if I was in your predicament I'd be in a Legacy GT or a G35, both of which can be had slightly used for around 25k.

Keep your 8 and buy a cheap "clunker" for the times you can't drive your 8...

Keep the 8 and get a clunker, I think your boss would love the car. If you need something new I would recommend a G35 sedan, you can even get them with 6spds, but to stay in your budget a 1-2 yr old with low mileage with the auto would definitely be right there and would be sportier than the Toyota and you will get around 20MPG easy, on the highway, look for 25MPG.

Try an Acura TSX 6 speed, or the Accord V6 which this year comes in a 6 speed.
they are affordable, good handling decent powered rides, in the mid 20s that are 'nice; and 'classy' i think.

both are also featued in the new Car and Driver with some other sporty sedans in the mid 20s.

Another car is the Volvo S40 T5. That has like 240 some HP and is 'nice' and small (built on mazda 3 platform) but can move people in decent comfort.

I am right now leaning towards a cadillac cts 3.6 i can pretty much trade my car straight up for one with about the same mileage i like how they look and are very showy for a sedan type car very business like. Any one know how they drive and if they are reliable or require much upkeep

So why exactly do you need a new car though? I mean scrubbing the bumper and all that is minor details, it'll still cost you more to trade into another car than simply drive the 8 and repair whatever you damaged. Keep the 8 and drive it..

The only one getting owned is the moron that does the lease. Theres other financing options that involve balloon payments at the end, lower monthly payments, and less fees than a lease.

The cts is a decent car, I looked at one for my father in law. I thought the seating position was a little wierd and the rear leg room was very poor when I had the seat adjusted for me (I am 6' 2"). It is a decent car, but being a Cadillac it is really a GM and they are god cars but I personally think there are better cars for the money. I would seriously look at the Infiniti G35 (2 or 4 door) it will be a little more sporty and less old manish than the cadillac. I have an Infiniti FX35 that is a fantastic SUV and I have been very pleased with it so far. Also the Infiniti will come with more standard options than the cadillac.

What the hell is up with your boss? I've never heard of driving the boss around in an employees car. That is ludicris. Why don't you drive his car around?
