Just wondering how come Mazda is the only car company that lets the general public flog its cars (in public!)? :D

There MUST be others (hello Nissan, BMW, Acura, Toyota)! Who else does this, and if not - why not? Are they scared of the result? Not marketing to the enthusiast (huh?)? To cheap to sacrifice a few cars/time/people? Too upper crust to bother (leave it to race teams for prestige)?

It would be nice if a little competition developed for the masses to flog cars before buying/ just for the hellofit! Is Mazda the only car company that knows this? Certainly this would help improve several breeds of cars, not to mention enable most of us to book 6-12 more weekends a year going to these fun events. Even the lame American manus talk performance, so where is Ford, GM, Chrysler?

Hats off to Mazda! They are one hellofa great bunch IMHO!!

Mercedes did it, BMW did it, Lexus did it, even GM had one. Mazda just happenes to be the latest, but also the most organized one I have been to. Actually I just came back from the Boston Rev-It-Up an hour ago, it was a blast for $40. I wish all the AutoX events are like that. I wish the competition car was the Mazdaspeed Miata or RX-8 instead of the 3~ still, the Mazda 3 is a better car for AutoX than the 6.

The Mazda 3 is a sweet little car, IMO the best deal under $15k. Plenty of interior space, refreshing styling (very clean, without being overdone) I particularly like the 5 door.

Fun to drive? Talk about the Mazdaspeed Miata, it's such a fun car to drive around. Now I am really looking forward to the next rotary Miata.

there are bmw events like that , I forgot where tho , but basically its just a driving school. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it is in NJ and they let you beat on m3's or z3's or something of that sort ...

Well why doesnt toyota nissan and honda do it? they dont need too.

they sell reguardless, Rev-It-Up is a huge marketing campaign which WORKS, look at the sales of Mazda in the last year. I mean u have to give credit to Mazdas Designers, who came up with the styles for all the new vehicles as well.

Alot of companies have been allowing you to test drive their cars in specialized events, but no1 is doing it the Rev-It-Up way.

personally i think rev it up was great and if i was to sell my civic for another compact daily driver it wud be the 3 hands down! Mazda allowed me to get a feel for the car and i loved it. of course id want the Falken Tires, Eibach Springs and Exhaust IMMEDIATLY!
