If the 25th anniversary edition (I'm still skeptical about this "25th anniversary" thing) was like any other R1, then yes it should have a very stiff near race ready suspension. To be honest, the R1 was too hard for daily driving and Mazda softened it a little with the R2 version in '94.
I test drove an R1 before buying my Touring Edition, and man, talk about a hard ride! If you had fillings in your teeth, they would be in danger of being knocked out by the R1's suspension!
