RX-7 Question
#5
That's odd. The opposite is more plausible. It's not a good idea to switch to a real synthetic (Polyol Ester) if the car has many miles on dino and hasn't had oil seals recently replaced. I've seen leaking develop and smoking in a friend's Miata recently (Leaks everywhere and turbo smoke).
Black smoke, however, indicates rich mixture. Blue to bluish white smoke indicates the burning of oil more typically.
Paul.
