rx-8 vs 350z

I was just cruising around 350zforums...
Man are they bunch of haters!!
They think of our Rx8es as piece of crap
it just angers me so much!
I don't know what makes this 350z and Rx8 such rivalry hatred
but they just talk trash about our cars!
When i saw some of threads about 350z here It was very nice and propriate
nothing that made me frown. But those people from Zforums...every hateful things they say make me frown
God! i just hope i won't run into one of those blood thirsty hooligans on the street

The truth is, the 350Z is a two seater sports car equipped with an engine that produces more torque and horsepower than that of an RX-8, causing the vehicle to accelerate faster in comparison to an RX-8.

One cannot deny that when he or she test drives any new car, mashing on the gas pedal to test acceleration is a must regardless of the vehicle being chosen. Whatever joy is felt during those few seconds of straight line acceleration in an initial test drive is more pronounced in a 350Z in comparison to the RX-8. Therefore, for many new car buyers interested in a sports car, yet who will never take their car on an autocross course or winding roads [aka, MOST people], more acceleration = more joy = better car. Thus, the right to put down "slower, inferior" cars.

I will admit, there have been many a Neon SRT-4, RSX, Mustang, 350Z, S2000, WRX, Evo, and Turbo Civic that have "smoked me" while I still sitting at the stop light in neutral, or cut me off while I was trying to avoid their auto-x moves on the freeway. To these people I say congratulations and hope their licenses get suspended before they mess up and kill someone on the road.

Anyone who puts down your car is somehow thinking they can hurt its feelings and make it cry or something. Come on folks, it's only a car.

Besides that, it's not like any RX-8 owner was not able to get their hands on any of the other competing vehicles instead, right?

It's a matter of preference.

Doesn't matter to me--I test drove the 350Z and wasn't impressed--the cheap materials is what really turned me off. The only thing that I admire about the 350Z is its tunability--other than that they can kick rocks.

I know the 8 is the car I wanted. That's all that matters to me, therefore no need to flame the other cars. Some people need to flame the competition to feel more secure in their puchase decision.

Yeah, it's fast. Yeah, it looks nice. It felt a lot bigger than it looked when I was driving it, which was odd. But there are two disadvantages of this car - lots of people have them, and it is completely impractical as your #1 car

Sadly, many male drivers suffer from a well known disorder called "Little Dick Syndrome" which, through no fault of their own, compels them to "talk trash" about any car they don't own. They will do this to compensate for their own lack of, shall we say, "horse power" and other short-comings. Those afflicted by LDS will try to hide their condition by putting down others, or other people's cars. They believe others will perceive them as more manly, by doing so. They fail to realize that their words and actions usually have the opposite effect.

Unfortuneately, men who suffer from LDS must constantly deal with an overwhelming sense of insecurity. Too many LDS victims fail to seek proper treatment. They will often try to treat their problem by themselves (never a good idea by the way) by purchasing the fastest car they can afford. They will then try to race any car they feel may be slower than their own (Geo Metro's, Yugo's, etc.). Racing and beating elderly women in Ford LTD's and Soccer Mom's with Mini-Van's full of kids and groceries, give the LDS victim a tremendous boost in confidence. They feel better about themselves and the world..........until the next time they drop their pants of course.

Most of us probably know someone with LDS. The symptoms are difficult to conceal. Be thankful that you do not suffer from this disorder and please, try to be patient and understanding towards those that do.

I've always been under the impression that men with LDS buy the largest cars or trucks they can afford...see HUMMERS and pickup trucks with 4 foot tires on them

Nonsense! All it takes to conceal LDS is a rolled up pair of socks. And it's much less expensive than a $30K+ sports car. (Nissan, Corvette, and Mustang dealers have spent millions trying to keep this simple solution from being widely recognized.)

God-forbid somebody's car be 2nd best, or 4th best, or anything but best in every category - some people don't love their car for being their car, they only assign value to their car if it succeeds in every aspect of being a car. These people aren't enthusiasts to anything but their egos.

The 350Z is a great car. So what? The Enzo is a great car too! A 77 International Scout II is a great 'car' as well. As is the RX8.

People will hate what they fear the most. What else is there to say to RX-8 haters.

Very well said. Unfortunately, it seems that Americans' preoccupation with competition in virtually every aspect of the culture undermines appreciation of quality for its own sake. I appreciate the RX-8 for its innovative engineering and imaginative design. Are there "better" cars? I suppose. There are also better dogs than mine, better houses than mine, and (by some criteria) better life partners than mine. None of these silly comparisons undermines the appreciation I have for my dog, house, and wife (and not in that order.)

I've got an 8, my friends with other cars have nothing but nice things to say about it. I get compliments all the time. Conversely, I usually praise my friends' choice of ride as well.
I think this trash-talking is more prevalent in forums where people are generally more passionate about their choice of car. But in all honesty, most people have to admit (even grudgingly) that the 8 is a pretty decent car.

Perfect quote to close this thread on.

Let's wait a couple of months before starting a new RX-8 vs. 350Z thread. Or if you need your fix of 350z vs. RX-8 rhetoric, please enjoy one of the many previously created threads.

Please use the search feature to find them, it won't be hard.

Thanks The Mgmt.
