RX-8 vs Cobalt SS
#13
Im constantly defending my car against my friends putting it down saying like its still a mazda and I shoulda waited to get a better car like a benz or 645. Cause they like drive Bentley's and g-wagons and sl's and stuff (they are succesful singers) and Im in a group under the same label so they looked down upon me for getting an 8 when i coulda just waited til we released to get a better car... I told them if i had the money to get a ferrari or like one of their cars.. I still would get the 8 cuz thats how much I love my baby... to mee I still think i look better then a benz driver I still feel equal to somebody driving that 645 and our cars are just as fly...... IT KILLS ME WHEN I SEE COMPARISON'S TO CARS LIKE A COBALT AND HONDAS AND STUFF!!!! PLEASE WE ARE DRIVING A NICE NICE CAR PEOPLE!!!! LET'S LOOK AT IT LIKE THAT!

Anyway, thanks for your HONOST opinion QBallz, my buddy owns a Cobalt and it truely is a fast car, i'm yet to race him. Thought maybe some people already did, apparantly its a flame fest on these forums.

Are the Cobalts anything like an SRT-4? Those don't have any trouble outrunning us in straight lines.
But, you'd probably have to look up some legitimate timeslips for both cars to have a good idea. Even though you're obviously asking from a street-racing perspective (which isn't actually allowed, by the way...), the results you see from a dragstrip are always going to be far more consistent. And therefore, will give you a more realistic idea of which car is actually faster in a straight line.
If you need more than that, dig around for some Autocross results. You can usually find rankings with times, which the 8 usually seems to be at, or near, the top of.

Sorry guys but the only way you're beating an SS is if the driver in the SS is worse than you are. From a dig you'll have the best shot since you'll have a bit of a traction advantage, but the Cobalt SS has been known to run low 14s stock and it traps around 100mph.

1. you're asking about something that deals with street racing, which isn't allowed on this forum.
2. your buddy has a cobalt...why don't you just find out for yourself??
3. you probably didn't even attempt to look up times/stats yourself. which is the same thing as not using the search function.
4. i gave you my opinion...a flame.
qballz and vector are nice guys. i, on the other hand, like to be straight foward.
