RX-8 vs IS300

well, im stuck between these two cars. I want the rx-8 cause its damn sexy and i wanted a 4 door sports car. The IS300 will probably serve alot better in the latter years as i finish up college. My head is hurting from thinking about this to much i really dont know what to get!! Give me input. Oh i did test drive both of the cars. And im left at a bind loving both of these cars truely

I have heard that there will be an IS 430 with the V-8, a car I would love to have. No mention of it by Lexus so far, though. In the meantime, I went with the RX-8. I have to agree with Mike, it's a win-win deal.

hey I'd say go for the rx-8. omg it is so awesome. you wont be sorry. I almost got the is300 as well. the is300 is really nice but its just like a civic well kinda. but the rx-8 just has this totally redesigned look. it really is amazing. I love it. I love it! trust me you get the rx-8 you wont be sorry, and it has a lot of space for a sports car

I am blown away by how much cargo I can haul by leaning back the passenger seat flat. The freestlye doors are a godsend for bulky items and just as useful as if the car had a rear hatch. Of course I cover everything with a blanket so nothing gets scratched when I do this.

Pulsr,

Just keep test driving both cars multiple times until you can decide.

If you want a manual car, get the RX-8.

If you prefer automatic transmission, go for the IS300.

IS300 is an old car, buy the RX-8.
But if you want a sedan I would buy BMW 330

Sorry, but the IS looks like a Civic on crack. Go for a G35 Seadan for a 4 door.

I heard there was a redesign for the IS in 2004. Might be worth the time to look into it. But if you do decide on the IS, it has the old supra NA engine so it'll respond nicely to mods.

Supercharger has some examples around here somewhere... http://www.rx8forum.com/showthread.p...ht=is300+turbo

Check out this thread for more info.

Personally between a 5MT IS300 and the 6MT RX-8 I would get the RX-8. However if you are looking at the 5AT IS300 vs the 4AT RX-8 it might be a more difficult decision. BTW the rotary hum is addictive - other cars sound like tractors now.

rx-8

superior driving dynamics, superior engine, superior car if you like sports cars and like spirited driving :D and it's almost just as practical as the is

is300 is a nice sporty sedan, that's all. don't get me wrong; i like it a lot. but you won't have as much fun w/ it. plus, can't get a 6-speed, engine isn't all that strong, sloppier suspension setup than e46 3-series, and it's getting old
