I'm sure people will come in here saying that 300 hp is still too low to compete with what's out there (370, Gen coupe, G37, etc) but I'm assuming this little beast will be QUICK due to the weight difference.
good news indeed.

I checked out a few of the articles and the seem to be providing conflicting information. One says electric supercharger because the 16x won't be ready for years. Another, says the RX9 will use the 16X. Again, I won't believe anything until it comes from an official source.

Looks good, but honestly 300 flywheel HP is weak for what is likely a 30k+ car. Hell the new Focus ST will have 247HP.
But these articles don't offer much, the final car could be way different. A 300HP starting point would be great though if it is FI and there is room to grow like the Genesis Turbo.

Most people give it a 200% to a 300% increase. The scca only docks me 200% when I run the track with them but the SCTA gave me a 300%. I have also seen 250%. I understand the 200% penalty since Mazda does not include the exhaust side of the engine which is the same displacement as the intake portion. On that note the SCTA penalty is out of sure hate. They did it because they did not want the piston engines to loose there record standings. It is out of pure jealousy and hate.

100% - there is NO news here - these links don't contribute but simply muddy the waters with rumor and heresay that has been regurgitated many times before - the only 'news' that there has been recently has come from the mouths of Mazda's designers saying the car is a long way off and no RX-7, so don't expect one.
