Later cars seem to be reliable or maybe I've been lucky so far. Just standard service items for mine, now at 50k miles. Its an unmodified car kept in the UK, I'm the 4th owner. Dyno'd at 265rwhp a few weeks ago and compression still at 7.0 so hopefully a lot of life left in it. Used most days, even for the school run.

Later model is much more reliable. Just the Turbo alone they made modifcations (updates) to it, so it flows better and it last MUCH longer.
Most people in the US refused to "stay with stock" and up the boost without any other mod. Result is "BOOM!" and most if not all people who is still using stock twin turbo are still using the older version.
Latest Stock Twin turbo can go 350 without too much issue. if I have an FD, I want it to stay with stock twin turbo and I WILL Buy the 99 spec twin turbo to go with it.
