CrossFire: 215 hp@ 5700 / 229 ft-lbs@ 3000 / 3084 lbs

RX-8: 197 hp@ 7200 / 164 ft-lbs@ 5000 / 3053 lbs

Crossfire would be faster in a straight line, ' Overall ' is up to each person, it cannot be answered.

Crossfire is faster in acceleration especially since it has a decent auto-gearbox--the auto RX8 handles/looks/better quality than the Crossfire.

the crossfire has horrible rear visibility, its like sitting in a tunnel thats progressively getting smaller. I looked at one and its wasnt even an option for me vs the 8

The fact that it's decade old, redressed SLK architecture makes it bad enough in my book.

Top Gear ripped the Crossfire a new one when they test drove it. They actually recommended the Celica over it.

crossfire might be faster but you'll be driving a car that looks like a big gigantic shoe.

I test drove it and it felt VERY heavy. I am sure that is due to it's MB lineage, but it just didn't feel right. Also as stated before the visibility was horrid.

Yeah--my mom has an SLK230 and when I hop into it after driving my RX8--world of difference. The Crossfire is old-tech. The convertible is ooookkkkk i guess

Top Gear compared the Crossfire appearance with a dog hunched over taking a dump. It was a classic episode; I had never seen them rip into a car like they did to it.

I saw that show, and they did not have a nice thing to say about it, and the same guy (Clarkson) raved about the rx8 on another show.

"...the worst US/German collaboration since a man called August A. Busch came over to America, tasted the water and said 'ahhh dis would make good beer' and so was born that headache in a can we now known as Budweiser"

Don't know what is funnier. The visual comparison or the fact that someone took a picture of a squatting dog.

i ended up getting an 8 over the crossfire because i wanted a manual and i thought the 8 was more fun to drive by far in stick form. if i wanted an automatic I might have gone with the crossfie. I actually like their looks quite a bit and loved the fact that some people hated it.

looks a lot better as a convertible imho.
