Happy :) Yes, you're right...you really need to wind up the RENESIS to get going, whereas the G35 is much easier to drive as a daily driver.

welcome to the 21st century, buddy where platform sharing is the future. There is no shame in platform sharing. So youre saying my car is not a skyline because it shares platform with 350Z? lol. I guess you didnt know that Nissan wanted to save money and didnt want to develop a seperate platform for 350z, so they decided to use the skyline platform. The platform was orignally disgned for the skyline, not the 350z. Thats why 350z a pretty heavey for a sports car because its based on a coupe/sedan platform, but its ok since it allows Nissan to sell 350Z at a much lower price point. :)

Ive never heard of anyone besides you that says a car no longer deserves its badge because it shares platform now? Whao you have a real strong argument there about why its not a skyline!!! lol I guess to you, Ferraris are no longer Ferraris since they started sharing platform with Messerati? Wow, 3 short paragraphs is considered "loooong?" You must really have some trouble in school. I got all "passionate" in about 3 paragraphs? Wow seeming as though your posts take up the whole damn page, that's pretty hypocritical. You got all riled up didn't you, just because I don't consider your car a "skyline?" Neither do any of the car buffs I talk to, you gonna go hunt us all down now? Geez grow up man. Does what I think really matter to you that much? And not once did I get hostile or insult you, so perhaps you should just stop now before you make yourself appear any more childish than you already have.

And just to set the record straight, I like the G35C alot. Do I like it better than the 8? Hell no. When it was time for my girl to buy a new car, we looked at the G35C and what did we get? Not a G35C, but an S2000. I still like the Infiniti though.

Oh and did any of you guys ever wonder what happened to the 2+2 300ZX? **Psst, it's not a big secret, but it was re-released as a G35 Coupe. Nissan got lazy and called it a skyline to fill two niche markets. Go figure. :rolleyes:

and sure, The G35 is both a skyline and a 350Z 2+2 coupe at the same time :) nothing wrong with that in my book. and I love the s2k too as well as the rx8:)

I still see no correlation with the G35 and the skyline besides the fact that Nissan put a skyline badge on a 2+2 Z.

hey, to be honest, Im not trying to make enemies on this board. Im a big bruce lee fan my self. Like I said before, you are entittled to your own oppinion. So I respect that. I did mention earlier than the FM platform was originally intended for skyline though, they put the 350z on the platform to save money. But im ok with it being a 2+2 Z. or you can say the 350Z is a 2 seater Skyline. Skylines have historically been performance oriented RWD/AWD coupes/sedans. And thats what G35 is. They might be mediocre to you, I respect the skyline badge and its history, not just the GT-R. I like both cars anyways and I think platform sharing dosnt take anything away from the legacy of a car. Its the ability of the individual car that matters to me. But Im sorry If I offended you earlier. No hard feelings. :)

So lazy in fact that they went from being on the brink of bankruptcy to being rather profitable. I guess it would have been better if they had just done a 2+2 Z and canabalized their own sales rather than create another similar car but in a slightly different segment. It was a brilliant move on the part of Nissan if you ask me.

I like platform sharing, if you got a good thing, why not use it more. It benefits everyone in the end. Had nissan actually developed a dedicated sports car platform for the 350z instead of using a sedan/coupe platform, the car would have ended up much lighter and more nimble and perform better in all respects, but at the same time made the car cost thousands more. I think 1 of the biggest reason behind 350Z's success is the starting MSRP of around $26k.
