So today I was kinda bored so I went on a 350z forum just to see how people feel about the 8.

I typed in rx8 in the search and found that the majority of the 350 owners had a bit of a superiority complex don't get me wrong some of them were nice and like the 8 for what it is but a lot of them just bashed our car.

If the 8 ever beat the 350 in anything they would be well it had so and so on it so it wasn't really fair bla bla bla. Some of them called the 8 ugly and said that it is a sloppy drive.

The 350z is a nice car and all but don't make it out to be the car to end all cars.

the 8 can't be all bad to have sold as many as it has.

just thought that some of you would like to know what goes on in other forums. :D

Are you talking about 350Zmotoring.com? If so I wouldn't worry about it. Their "kills story" section is truly priceless. At any given point there's at least one thread about an E46 M3 kill. Short of forced induction, an M3 vert, or chimpanzee piloting the bimmer, that's simply not possible. There's also some guy in there who posts a kill at least 3 or 4 times a week. He's apparently got some sort of nitrous setup and the ego to match it. They all pat him on the back and never question 1.) the frequency of his action packed, Hollywood-ish street racing lifestyle or 2.) how every car he races gets pummeled. He's got to be 100-0 since I've been visiting that place.

There are some good posters over there though who know about cars and put the fanbois in their place when they type before they think. In my opinion, the measure of every vehicle-specific forum is how many of those type of guys there are. That 350Zmotoring forum is still at the bottom of the list.

Why do you think there is no 'Kill Section' on rx8club.com?

 

I know why but it's not always the kiss of death the moderators make it out to be. The bimmer forums run a tight ship on their kills section. The NorCal Evo boards is the same way. There is definately the potential for e-disaster with a kill section, but for a lot of people who think they're riding God's chariot it's the only chance for them to read about other cars first hand.

Hehe...I'm also on the STi forums, SRT forums, EvoM forums, NASIOC boards, Automotive forums, and 3 or 4 other smaller local boards for tuners. I used to have a job where I did nothing and got paid a lot of money. Now I have a job where I do everything and get paid nothing.

 

I find the phrase "we have more class" coming from stupidcivcstrixare4kids mildly amusing.

you should try and hang aroung srt-4 or mustang forums, they make it seem like they drive god's gift to the road.

personally, if i had unlimited funds, i'd have a 350, evo, and '02 wrx (not feelin the new style) amongst others. they each have their appeal, but in the end, the 8 won out, and i couldn't ask for a better ride

 

i think that it's pretty funny when people paint themselves a magical world where the car they own is the shznitch and nothing else can hold a candle to it and if another car does beat that car then it wasn't playing fair cause no car is better then "x car" that they own.

Aw, let the kiddies play. I'm sure we all know why we bought the 8 so there's no need to justify our purchases with people who have never driven one or who simply don't know how to drive (sloppy drive? wtf?).

 

The RX-8 has quite a bit more bodyroll than the 350Z which is most likely what they were refering to... Hard to say without seeing the link, but I bet it looks a whole lot like a lot of the 350Z threads that have been on here before

 

So why does anyone care again? I apparently missed that part.

all car forums are like that, even rx8 club(as well moderated as it is) gets like this.


im not too fond of 350z owners in general but i love the car. im a big fan of all of the high end japanese imports, they're all good cars, people get too high on themselves about their car just because it has a reputation. unfortunately the rx8 has a very bad one, but it doesn't bother me because that means less rx8 owners.

 

True, but to call it sloppy is quite a stretch. Makes me question just what they expect this car to be capable of. Its handling may be highly touted, but it's still just a regular production car.

 

I HATE 350's AKA..Altima,Murano,FX,G35,Maxima there the sloppy ones!

Nah I'm playing I had a 03 SpecV Sentra before my 8 which I thought was decent. It was good for what it was(econo box witha couple "go fast parts") But for the 350, I personally think there front end is hideous, very boring with that one big low grill intake thing then those vertical slant things it's just boring been there done that styling to me. On top of that if I'm spending 35-40k I don't want my interior and drivetrain shared with cars costing half as much. I never even considered one, I do like the rear end though. At least around here there are a BUNCH of meat sticks pushing them around driving like fools. Nissan TO ME is kinda of a Japense GM, too much part sharing very cheap genearic product. SO yeah I'm not into 350's AT ALL, but did anyone know the 8 is the best car in automotive history? :p
