+2 and I'll add this as well, people fear what they don't understand, so instead of trying to learn about it, it is probably easier for them just to bash it. I don't give a crap, unless they're paying my note every month they shouldn't either. We even have a club member with a black Z, I've watched both the revenge battle where the 8 beats the Z, and I also own "350 shock" where they spend a whole episode talking about the car. It really is an amazing car, but then again so is the 8 so why are all these people acting like idiots? At least we have choices, for a while there was nothing out there, thank goodness for nissan,mazda,mitsu, and scubydoo as at least we have a shot at driving something other than a fwd pisscrap or a mustang. someday maybe toyota will bring us something back (other than the IS) so we can have all 3 manus with a rwd sports car again...sigh..maybe someday

 

The 350Z is beautiful, no doubt there. But the car is crude, not really a sportscar, but more of a muscle car. Its the RX-8's most direct rival. From experience , these car are pretty well match, really a matter of the best driver.

That's a matter of opinion. I find very little "beautiful" about the Z.

I dont see any point of bashing other cars every damn day.

While I understand that everyone has their love & hate. For example, me, I hate Civic, All Civic, reason? Well, I mean their style is alright but maybe I should say, I like Civic, but I hate almost ALL Civic owners. They're so proud of their cars and keep on doing dangerous **** on the road. From time to time I see them.

i agree on the highway its a pretty fair comparison, you can walk stock 350z on the highway fine but you'll never beat a stock for stock 6mt 350Z with a competent driver from a dig.

And I believe stock/stock on the track the 350z and RX-8 are close to equal. RX-8 has slightly more refined handling and is about 300lbs~ lighter.

The 350z is defintely a cool car though. But I like how the RX-8 is designed much more ^^

 

Highway favors the Z even more than racing from a dig. But what would I know, I actually have a drivers liscense and have driven the cars...

 

The thing that cracks me up about 350z owners is that they go on and on and on about how their car is SO fast and has SO much torque and they can smoke anything and only care about "performance," but given what they payed for a so-called track model, they probably could have found a deal on a new c5 for about the same money which would absolute rape the Z.

 

If about the same money to you is 10-15k more, then sure, you're right

 

Deals on C5s are nuts right now, I'd bet you could find something in the 30s if you looked hard enough.

 

I think you're wrong man, even used 05s can't really be had in the 30s unless they have oddly high miles maybe.

Wrong Ike, many deals to be had on C5 Vettes right now. Considering the 350Z Track model runs upwards of 35k, you bet you can get a used C5 for that.

Back on topic, I think kill stories are absolutely stupid unless it happens on the track or at an autox. Furthermore, anyone on this board who owns an RX-8 probably could have afforded a 350Z. So whats the point of them bashing us or us bashing them? In my world, what car you have doesn't matter (unless you are in the M5, Porsche 911 world), its the driver that matters. Great you can put your car in drive or first gear and mash the accelerator, congratulations. Now can you handle that car on turn 3 @ NHIS? I've got video of 3 "faster" cars than the RX-8 wrecking there. Are they faster? Not by my stopwatch. Would they be faster with a better driver? Possibly.

 

I don't know what that has to do with kill stories per say, but I agree...the best mod is to improve the driver, not the car.

 

I personally think people who bash other cars are insecure, they want to constantly give them selves reasons to justify their purchase by putting down other cars in the same price range. these people lead bitter lives and i feel sorry for them.

 

It has a lot to do with it really. The whole point of a kil story is "my car was faster than theirs in a straight(ish) line". The only thing that determines who wins that competition has nothing to do with the driver. That was my only point.

 

It's always funny to hear someone who drives a not-terribly-fast car bashing the 8 for being slow.

 

I think it has a lot to do with the driver... the 2 drivers has to be stupid enough to want to drag race on the street, but there is a lot of skill involved in it to drive fast in a straight line.

And I agree about those kill stories. Why is it that all those forums such as S2Ks, 350Z's, SRT-4, etc. etc. forums have an entire board dedicated to kills?

Its just own personal opinion. and it has nothing to do with real life.

I mean, yeah sure, 350z has the extra horse and torque.

The 8 has 2 extra seat, a at least USABLE back trunk.

Im not going to bash anybody, since its just gonna pull me down to the same kiddie level that they all are currently in.

Its just funny that, Dont u guys notice that over at the 350 forum, people hardly admitted that they got owned by anybody else. I seriously dont think 350z can beat everyone on the streets. especially those kiddie just got their licenses when they're 18 who just beg their daddy to get him an "automatic" Z (meaning, no skills in driving at all)
