This is early Feb. news, but nobody has mentioned it.

GM is going to bring in the Opel Astra as the new Saturn Astra. GM will not be making many changes so it'll be pretty much Euro-spec when it arrives.

The interior is much more avant garde and interesting than most US designed GM products and I think that is a good thing.

All versions are powered by a 1.8L expected to make 140HP even in the sportier XR hatchback.

I think it looks sharp in the 3 and 5DR models. It is certainly better than any other compact that GM is currently selling. Kudos to GM for continuing to add from its non-US model lineup

Yeah I think GM realized their American designed/made cars suck donkey ***** and woke up to find out "Our European Cars have alot of interest lets bring 'em over!"

 

just as they realize it the mazda3 will go into its second generation!

We have the Opel Astra here as the Holden Astra...they are good, but, the Mazda 3 is better.
We have the Astra turbo and twin top (CC), 2 door and 4 door, and diesel....all of them really!!!

The Aussies get lots of good cars considering the population isn't humongous.

I like it that we don't have a humongous population, and our large island is "girt" by seas...so we can keep the crap out ...or in if you want to look at it that way.

Yeah, some **** head on the box the other day said that Australia has the largest model and brand range in the world...
