No, but I did sit in one and if I ended up not getting my 8 I would have gotten the tC, as my fall back on car, but it is a pretty nice car. I just wish it was rwd and had about 220HP, that would have been sweeeeet.
But, it's fwd, has 160HP, and weighs about the same as our 8...so it's not really fast nor can it handle too well.

oh, I didn't know it was FWD..I've never driven a fwd car.. :/ I'm looking at buying a car cheaper than the 8, And my final two came down to scion and Cobalt, but the Scion wins in looks and originality so It looks like I'm heading towards that, but now the question is what accessories are out there..

Its kind of a tuner's dream though, which is what I think they are going for. This is the Celica replacement and that VVT-I engine can really be tuned (Apexi SAFC, Exhaust, Intake, turbos galore, etc). In fact, I just saw the Nitto tuned tC on Car and Driver TV that puts down over 500hp to the wheels.

Why does the tc have more options than we do? Its a really nice car, and I'd like to have it as a daily driver, and make my 8 the project car/garage queen, but I see no reason why it came out a year after ours, and there are more options for it already.

It has the same engine as the 4 cylinder Camry. Though the Camry doesn't exactly command a huge aftermarket, the engine really isn't anything new or complex.
The tC isn't a bad car by any means. Why anyone would want to dump a lot of money into it, I don't know. I'd take a Mazda3s hatchback over one though.

I hear you can get a TRD turbo fo it, right out of the factory without voiding your warranty or anything...it's a nice little car, but the FWD thing really stinks!

TRD doesn't make a turbo. supercharger, yes. my little sister drives around a Scion tC. great little car that comes with a lot for only $16k. it's not a replacement for the celica, it's not a replacement for anything. it's an add-on. Scion itself is an add-on to the Toyota line. Toyota's plan was to market towards the younger generation w/ these "hip" affordable rides that come w/ a bunch of options. the aftermarket industry is blowing up and they figured everyone is getting into it, why not sell them something they can work with? if you noticed, Toyota is becoming the Oldsmobile of the japanese car industry. their flagship sports car is the MR-S...wtf?? Mitsubishi answered their challenge from Subaru's WRX by bringing out the EVO. Mazda brought back the rotary in the 8 as Nissan brought back the infamous "Z". Toyota doesn't have an answer to anyone right now. i guess the Celica GT-S is an answer to the new Si and RSX Type-S. but seriously, their current line doesn't excite the younger generation. if only toyota made cars like the mr2 and supra again...
not a lot comes with the car. panoramic sunroof, 17" alloy wheels, mp3/cd/radio, sport bucket type seats, turn signals built in the side mirrors. that's about it.

power everything also comes standard. i originally was going to get a tC but got screwed around by the dealership. ended up spending more but i ended up with the 8 and couldn't be happier!
i will say though that it is a good little car and i would buy one in a heart beat if i could afford it. but that would just be money that i could put into the 8!!!

Actually it is a Celica replacement--because the Celica is dead now, so is the MR2. Besides Toyota was quoted saying such in evey mag. that tested the Scion tC. The TRD supercharger boost output to 200Hp; I was pushing my girlfriend to check this car out-but she is lookin at the Mazda 3 5 door.

Oh yea, it's probably cheaper/funner to mod the car yourself so I'd keep the tC mod free out the dealership.

my friend has a tC, auto. Its a really nice car. My ONLY problem with the car was that its interior is not refined at all.
In the performance catagory it is easily compared to a 99-00 Civic SI. Its looks to havea decent after market, specifically from the Celica.
For the price i think it makes a great daily driver.
As for a xA i test drove it and i was def impressed. Lacks power no doubt but one fun car to drive. Not as fun as the Mazda3 but right now I would say it was a close second in my book.

The TRD supercharger boost output to 200Hp

I test drove the tC when I was in the market for another car. Off the back the acceleration feels pretty good (test drove the manual). The guy at the dealership told me to feel free to drive as I liked. I pushed it to as much as I could without having to worry about cops, but for being a FWD it's pretty good in the right turns of about 90 degrees at 45mph. I mean driving my mom's accord and the tC I felt a difference between the two and obviously a difference from my RX7. I think its a well rounded car and with the optional add-ons is nice...yeah it's like a tuner's dream car because of all the things that can be done to it.

Well I own a TC manual. and all I can say is that this car is really really nice for the price!! its probably the most fun car you can buy for 16k!!! it looks a lot nicer than it should for that price!! I have 9k miles on it and no problems. I love the sunroof too and the MP3 player is nice too, but if I had the money I would get rid if it right away to get an 8. I have test drove one a few times and absoulutly love it, but if I were to get one I would have to get it fully loaded. thats just me though, I will just have to save my pennies and try to get it in a couple of years if you have any questions on the TC just let me know.

I have driven a celica but it was a long time ago so I cant really compare, but the TC has more get up and go then you would think. it really suprises people when they drive it! its partly because it has 163 lbs of tourqe to go along with the 160HP. its not a bad little engine
