way to insult the entire forum on your 3 post . you do indeed know alot about the history of the rotary production, but the correct answer could have fun googled by anyone here. as for the under warranty 8 crew, our car was introduced 3 years ago so chances are we do have a warranty

oh, and welcome to the board

How am I insulting the forum by stating the truth? Is it that hard to swallow? I only bring it up because I would bet my 7 that the number of 8members that could do anything more than drive to the stealership or bolt on an intake is in the single digits.

Quit being ******** guys. You're embarassing RX-7 owners, and Rob you dont even own one!

Socal, you're wrong about the GTUs, sorry, the GTUs did have everything the turboII had suspension wise (overall beefier components), it just had the N/A engine instead. It was a TII minus the hood and drivetrain. It also had the 4.33 gears to set it apart from the other N/A's to make it a nice step between the normal N/A's and the TII. What Red Devil said was true and even if you have some minor discrepancies and want to nitpick his post apart, you dont have to be a dick about it.

You aren't some holy god of rotary awesomeness because you drive a 20 year old car and researched a bit further into your own car than these people. Plenty of RX-8 owners have done significant and impressive modifications and there's no need to insult them even if they haven't. The stock ones will still hand it to your sport model any day of the week, sorry.

hello rx-8 club, we arent all ********!

You really are a moron. so it is a t2 MINUS THE DRIVETRAIN, that makes perfect sense, and it is a 4.30 ratio FTR. And my 7 eats stock At 8 all day long if you must know......I am a fender away from the manuals, but you know right? I am 100% correct I get my info from a few sources, and you are wrong, perfect example of exactly what I am talking about MISSINFORMATION!!!! Thanks for proving my point. Reread my posts to enlighten your misinformed view, or post facts (not BS) to prove me wrong.....good luck.

Wow, and to think we're all idiots here because we bought a new car. I love FC's. Their drivers/owners, on the other hand, sound like SRT4 fanbois (generalization based on a couple of "I'm smarter than you" owners in this thread). See how stupid that is. Don't assume that people who bought a new car don't know anything about it, or its history. Just because someone had the audacity to post what they thought was correct information, doesn't mean you have to come in and correct them in the most degrading way you can think up. Everyone needs to learn something new on occasion, how about teaching instead of berating?

I agree with you, I apologize for my lack of understanding, I never called anyone an idiot either, and to own ANY rotary powered you have to have a brain in your head, unless the dealer does the work for you(which is something to envy IMO, ever see a rx7 at the dealer me either), FC owners are generally gearheads, with IMO more automotive intelligence that the average car buff, but that is mainly due to the fact that a noob with a rx7 will part ways fast, either with a blown motor or penny less, sometimes both. The 8 is a fairly young car so it isnt any wonder why the information is lacking by the way most stealerships treat the buyer like a moron only trying to squeeze evry last penny from ya. Yes I can be an ******* but when it comes to FC's I know my ****. Point is well taken, sorry for the hating words.

WTF?!? lol! That was great reading. I've driven RX-7's and RX-8's. The first spark of offense was probably: "NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING TRUE, you 8 guys."

Whoever fueled it from there is out of my control. This isn't RX-7 vs RX-8. Who are "you 8 guys"? I'm both.

RX-8 will never be "something like the RX-7..." The RX-7 is no-more as far as production goes. The true potential of the RX-7 is much closer to being reached by far than the RX-8 (and its Rotary engine with twice the NA power) as its barley been on the market. The FD RX-7 will always be one of my favorite cars (even over the 8 as it's sold today ) but the Renesis RX-8 is being produced right now.

Thanks for the correction, SayNoToPistons as I said "I believe..." anticipating that my model years would be tweaked.

So what does "F" and "C" stand for?

im gonna assume you meant to say your car is faster than an RX-8, but unless you've done some sort of serious engine work or the other drivers suck, I'd call you a liar.

what i dont get is when i re-read your posts, you only post facts that back up my claims that its basically a tII minus the drivetrain. do you realize that?

It only had a amfm deck and no power acc. IE windows/doors/sunroof/PS or AC. There was 107 GTUs made in 1989. I am not hear to flame, only here to inform, don't be butthurt, I mean no harm, I am just sick of MISINFORMATION. IMO if you dont know facts dont post BS.
GTU was not a SCCA class. GTU was a IMSA class. SCCA didn't have a place for the RX7 in professional racing. It did however run very competively in the amature GT2(peripheral port engine) & GT3 classes(bridge ported engine).

SNTP who let you out of the 7 lounge?

I can bolt on an intake , among other things.

BTW its a nice feeling to know that if something happens on my 8 i can go to the service dept. and get it fixed under warrenty. thats a better feeling than driving my 7 and thinking about the work i need to do to it.

In Mazda speak, the C represents the 3rd chassis for the Rotary Sports Cars.

SA (1st gen RX-7)
FB (redesigned 1st gen RX-7)
FC (2nd gen RX-7)
FD (Third gen RX-7)
FE (4th Gen also know as the RX-8, which is also know as the SE)

See a trend here???

Or Miata's the same way:
NA (1st gen)
NB (2nd gen)
NC (3rd gen)

Then there are other sub-types, for example in the 2nd gen Rotary Sports Car, there was the coupe and the convertible. The coupes are FC3S, while the convertibles were FC3C. Or FE3P would be 4 doors. The SE3P (often what the RX-8 is called because of Japanese VINs) is also the FE3P.
