Seen a few Solsti lately
Ive seen 3 Solstice here in the DC metro area over as many weeks.
Ive seen it in person multiple times, and even sat in the car, but must admit, it looks even cooler in motion. I was very impressed. My impressions of the car have continued to grow everytime i see one. Can't wait for the GXP version.
Has anyone else started seeing them on the road?

i see a dark grey one everyday (there's one in my work parking lot). other than that, i've seen a red one and a silver one. they are pretty nice, but i like the styling of the sky better.

Not bad looking but according to auto testers the car lacks refinement and chassis/suspension tuning (compared to the new MX-5) as it was rushed to market by Bob Lutz.
I've see 3 or 4 here and they are definately good looking cars. I hope the handling and buid quality is sorted out by the time the Saturn/Opel versions are released.

Started to see a few here on the road in MD and there is one frequently parked in a lot adjacent to my building. Looks very tight. I'm sure a few aftermarket parts like sway bars would go a long way to improving the car. Too bad I can't use a two seater for another 20 years, 3yr old and 3 month old kids.

I've yet to see a comparison where the MX5 beats it all around BTW. Not to mention it looks like a bar of soap.... lol

I saw a dark gray one the other day when I was at the grocery store. I saw him getting out of the car to go into the store as I was going out. I asked him how he liked his new Solstice. He said he thought it handled like a POS compared to the MX-5 and said he wished he would have listened to his wife. He said it is a fairly nice car and he likes driving it, he just wished it had better handling. He said he picked this car because it looked "manlier" than the MX-5 and overall he really liked the body styling, just lacked in handling.
Other than that one, I have not seen any others with the exception of the one at the auto show.

I was reading a review somewhere a couple months ago between the MX-5 and Solstice. They came out essentially tied at the end of the test but they said "at the end of the day the MX-5 is the one we didn't want to stop driving" so even though it essentially tied in overall results they still preferred the MX-5 because it was "more fun."

They look bad *** when you're not driving it, but when you get behind the wheel, it's lackluster. It's a lot of plastic and not much thought seem to have been put into positioning things. Even opening and closing the top is a hassle when compared to the MX-5.
Also keep in mind some dealers are charging 5k on top of msrp right now, so give it a few more months before they're all over the place.

I've been bouncing around ideas for my next car for a while (lease isn't up until June 07, but I might as well be prepared) and I'm really starting to like the Solstice, but I'd definitely prefer a Sky. As much as I love it, they really screwed the pooch on trunk space. Something like 1.6 sq. ft. of space with the top down and not a while lot more with the top up. I'm not expecting to be able to carry my entire wardrobe plus a load of groceries, but geez, come on guys, at least make it able to carry ONE small suitcase. That's the only thing keeping me from being VERY interested in either the Sky or Solstice.

IMO, the MX-5 is an ugly car.... and the pretty face is where the consideration starts for me in a vehicle.
Can you really say the Solstice doesn't deliver even if it doesn't beat out the MX5 in every category in a few mags?

I'm only going on what I've read. I'd like to take the Solstice for a test drive and see for myself.
The Opel version looks very nice:
