If you can wing the payments on an M3 or Vette got for it dude! If you want more room then the STi and Evo will give you that plus improved power and handling. My advice is to wait for the Evo IX to get here before making a decision. It should start hitting dealerships in September or October. The new Evo will have variable valve timing (MIVEC) and consequently improved mid and highend power. It would be worth the wait to atleast check out IMO. Good luck.

Mmmmm m3...
I would get a m3, better power and better mpg (hehe had to say it). The 8 has better curves but the m3 offers a mature/sophisticated look that I think the 8 lacks.
Hate to say it I've been toying the idea about getting a m3 myself (used of course) . but honestly you spent a bit of cash on your car already, if power is all that it lacks surely dumping another 5-6k would get u to m3 territory in power if not more. I would really sleep on this. If the looks of the car out grown u or vice versa that's different money can't solve that but power it can.

Well--your insurance will skyrocket with you being 17 and getting into one of those other cars. IMO the M3 and C6 are too much car for a 17 yr old--not from a performance standpoint but from an age standpoint. Where do you go from an M3 and C6 to once your on your on just starting out and you don't have anybody to buy the car for you? I had an FD at 16 (which was about 1998) but it was a 93. I don't know man--I'd go ahead and turbocharge that 8 you have and just sit tight on it for a couple of more years. As far as you selling it for $32,000---no chance. Try $22,000.

I'd sell the car, and buy a beater civic...drive that for a few years, spending money only to repair it.
Then pick out a car you want to buy. You'll learn to appreciate things alot more . Plus you can turn the beater civic into a track car when you get its replacement. (Make sure to get one of the doublewishbone hatchbacks...mmmm)
This way you'll...
Save money.
Save money.
Save money on insurance.
and
Save insanity when some kid dings the hell outta your car when you take it to college. And don't act like they won't...THEY WILL. They always do...even if you park a mile away from class and walk there...some kid will ding your door, or throw beer at it, or god forbid puke all over the side. If it happens to your 3k beater civic, you'll laugh. If it happens to a 50k BMW M3 CSL, you'll kill someone.

Buy a civic EG drop in a JDM K20 TYPE-R and call it a day. Will easily blow the doors off the sti and evo M3 and will give a LS1 a good run for its money...and yes i still hate hondas

All that money spent on show and looks but not on power??? What is wrong with you??? For the money you spent on your coilovers, tires and wheels you could be the one smoking evos, M3s and stis right now.
Since you're only 17, go but yourself a civic and learn...

not to mention that if I see some kid in an m3 or vette, I would automatically assume that it's daddy's car. Nobody will believe that you bought it with your own $$$$.
BTW good luck with that hard decision of yours.....maybe one day you'll do something good with that trust fund of yours.

Some of you guys are jealous a-holes. The guy never said anything condescending to any of you, even though he could have. If you can't answer his question or contribute to the thread browse on. He didn't come here to get his ***** busted.

But anyways for the question....
be nice to your parents and just get an STi or Evo. You'll save them almost 20,000. You'll have a car around as fast, but much more agile. Sure it's kinda ugly and ghetto but hey, you're young, you don't need to be a BMW snob yet. I'd get the STi though since it looks better (the '06 ones at least) and from what I hear is nicer for daily driving (I've only driven an STi, no Evo).

thanx for all ur guys reply. Well i am still going to sell the 8 for over $30000 and if i can't sell it that price then i'll probably keep the car, make it a nice show car and fast car too. If there is a fucing nice turbo out then i probably get it but all i read from this forum are the problem with the current turbos. I don't know how long i can wait for a turbo that actually works good, give nice power.
BTW i know i am spoiled but it runs through the family, my 21 year old brother got his mercade E55 amg for his 21 birthday. well my dad drive a porsche gt2 and mom drives a mercade SL500. I probably ask them for a M3 for my 21 birthday.

I know about 3 or 4 people who have m3s and are all 18 and younger. I would assume the average age of an m3 owner in socal is under the age of 30 IMO. everyone and their high school buddies has an M3 in orange county :/
but yah i still consider it an expensive car being $50k +

I think the problem is that we all live in different worlds. We were all raised differently and all have different beliefs. There is no point in skewering this kid alive because his parents are doing him a dis-service. This is just another example of a person who will be spoon fed the rest of their life. If they are only going to get richer and this is all they know, then what does it matter? Personally I know people who are even worse then this case. I thank my Dad everyday for my car and love it to peices. What more could a kid want/need then an RX-8? The only downside is that if I am not awake by noon on the weekends my Dad is off hot-roding somewhere.
My first car will be the nicest car I ever own...because, well...cops aren't exactly the richest people in the world.
I wonder what his parents do for a living....if he even knows...
