If you want ugly fast, get the EVO RS/IX/MR. There is a ton of dedicated aftermarket support for the Mitsu. If I were going to give up my RX-8, I'd get that. Sorry to see you want to part ways with your car.

id get the M3.. its got power luxury good looks.. handling is unbelievable, comparable to the 8, if not better....no body roll (something bugs the crap out of me about the 8)

id trade my 8 without a thought if i could afford it...

you cold turbo the 8.. but then it doesnt become the most friendly daily driver. (gas!!!)
on the otherhand.. the m3 can cruise around town in luxury pampering you with its awesome harmon kardon system...without molesting your wallet (gas!) and be a powerhouse when put an intake exhaust and line it up on the track next to any car...

sti evo are ugly and only great if you use them for what they are made for...

corvette is great.. if you want a "true affordable sports car".. but you might as buy a beater corolla or civic for the bigger space you require..

Why are you comparing a 50K (new one is probably more) to a 30K car. M3's are ugly as ****. The performance is nice, but I'd probably go with one of the Mercedes AMG models. A lot nicer looking cars.

I'm not sure if that should be taken as a compliment or an insult by an STi owner.

Jeez just cause his parents are very very very well off doesn't give everyone the right to bash him. If you were all in his shoes you certainly would not turn down the offer, so STFU! If you are able to sell your car for what you want, you should get the M3, sounds like it would be more to your liking with room, power, and you wouldnt lose the comfort like you would with an EVO or STI, however, you are just a kid (no offense) so you may like the look of a ricer over the 8 or M3, and they are certainly fast. If BMW doesnt screw up the looks of the next gen M3 (like they have with all there other cars excep the new 3 series) than I would look at that when you turn 21. Good luck with your choice.

I had 2 E46M3s and to be honest w/ you, it doesn't handle as good as the 8 in stock form. Yet it has more body roll too, but it's more stable on high speed turns unlike the 8. And I'd say the Harmon Kardon system sucks (known for all E46s) compare with the Bose system on the 8. Trust me on this one, I know.

But again, it's more luxury then the 8 of course. And yet, it has a tad better gas milage.

My coworker got a STi and it's somehwhat faster then my M3. But with some mods, it smokes the M3 in no time.

Honestly, I don't think you need to spend $50K+ to get $50K+ amount of happiness. All material things- be it cars, computers, clothes, golf clubs or whatever- always start off giving you a big rush when you first get them. And, then the excitement gradually evens out with time. But, whether this creates "unhappiness" depends on how you look at things and how mature you are.

Objectively, if you're someone that gets bored with your car pretty fast, then maybe leasing is a better idea- 'cuz u get to drive something new every couple of years- at least until you find a car that you really can fall in love with.

There is always going to be someone out there with something newer, faster, cooler, more expensive etc. So learning how to be happy and content with what you have is a good philosophy of life in general. Otherwise, right after you buy your M3 and see a Lambourghini roll by, you're going to cry.

Of course, if you have enough money to wipe your *** with $100 bills, then I guess it doesn't really matter. Though, I still think it's a good "life philosopy" to learn to be content and happy with what you have.

With that said, the premium Harmon Kardon system in my '99 323i sounds a LOT better than the Bose in my '05 8. And, I get compliments on the HK system all the time. So, I dunno how someone can say that it sucks. Having test driven my friends' M3's before, I do have to say BMW makes a really, nice sports car. But, for me personally, I think it's not worth the price tag. I get equal, if not more fun and "happiness" driving the 8- which not only costs far less, but also doesn't have the negative "M3 *****" stigma that goes w/ M3 owners in general.

C6 if you must trade. But personally I'd keep the 8, particularly after dumping that much money into it. Hell $5-6k more and you'll have plenty of power.

But what to do when the new car gets beaten on the highway...

There's always, ALWAYS, someone faster.

Nice looking car. You're dreaming if you think someone will pay over 30k for that. Well, I shouldn't say that, there is a sucker born every minute. I hope it works out for you.

Just to be clear, this car doesn't have enough power for drag racing for you?
Have you ever actually driven your car on a track? it might change your mind about it
