Should I buy a SKY Redline?

I cant stand the brand name of: Saturn, Kia, and Hyndai. Anything by them is substandard and thats because im polarized. And no it doesnt look that great. The dash is discusting. I would rather own a convertable Z.
BTW, I saw the s2k and it is damn ugly too.

Looks are subjective, and fleeting. It has the shiny bits that make it look interesting. However, power isn't everything, and the Solstice that this car is based on handles ugly in comparison to a Miata.

I think this car looks really good.

I know they have already figured out how to fit a V8 in these car.

If you can put up with the cumbersome top, and no storage space, go for it. Those are the only 2 detractors for it, imo.
And anyone who says the S2k is ugly, and then says they'd rather have a convertible Z doesn't have much credibility in judging a car's looks. Also imo.

I like the looks of the car. It does have a small gas tank. But does have pretty decent power. Haven't seen one on the road yet though. It's weird cause I've seen plenty of Pontiac Solstice's and no Sky's. Hmmmmm Anyways I like overall, expect the name.

The one I saw as a bit older. Looking at that picture, I find these things displeasing:
1.) the hood is so skinny. There is no body to it.
2.) the slope of the lines arnt very gracefull
3.) the curves are not pleasing
4.) looks like a skinny bmw.
5.) its not an 8.

I've heard a lot of problems with the original Sky that seem to be pretty annoying...notably the suspension rubbing and causing big problems.
I'd very roughly looked at the Sky when I was lookin for a new car, but passed over it pretty quickly. The thought of the bigger engine it was tempting however.
There were still too many downsides IMO
First of all, it's even smaller then you imagine it.
Second, the manual top...what is this? 1988? The trunk stores about a duffel (sp?) bag in there.
I personally liked a lot of the early pics i saw of it, but when I finally saw one in person, it lost it's appeal VERY quickly with it's jaggedly obtuse design from certain angles.
Lastly, The BASE Sky's are even hard to come by around here...much less the Red Line. If you plan on grabbin one, prepare for a pretty intense waiting list.
*EDIT*
and WOW...i must say that the reverse opening hood is a big drawback. PAIN IN THE BUTT to work on anything under the hood. Now why did they go and do that?

If you want an elise made of plastic then you've hit a home run. American cars can paint it up in almost any way but their use of plastic is so shameful and obvious in too many cars. This saturn is ONLY about looks and a claimed 0-60. Lets face it though, most numb driving Americans really only care about looks and 0-60 when it comes to their supposed sports cars sadly.
Get a mustang GT convertible....faster, sexier, retro, classy, and you know what you're getting into with one. Who knows what kinda crumb bucket GM is up to with this one. Let hope they didn't steal a chassis from Fiji.
