Skyline for $7k on ebay
Question if anyone cares to answer. There is a 99 Skyline R34 on ebay with a buy it now of 7 grand. I know that the going price for a legally imported and converted car is 75-100k+. So I am assuming that this can not be registered. Is this the going price for a track only car? Or is there someting else up with this?

"Note: This listing is restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only"
you have to email him just to be able buy it anyways. i think its that low so people will look at it then try to email him.

My guess is if you had emailed them he would've told you some story about being out of state/country and that they would ship the car to you. Usually with some story about how much they love the car, but since they're not around, they can't afford to keep it.
Then they'll say "all you have to do is put the money in an escrow service and we'll ship the car over!"
You put the money in the "escrow" service and you never get the car, and the "escrow" service doesn't give your money back.
This is the most common scam I think.

You're correct spork. That is definitely the most common scam and it's all over places like Yahoo Autos as well.
I've been scammed before so now I just follow the saying that if its too good to be true, it probably is.

I saw a Supra on craigslist for 9K with only 40K miles in "excellent condition". the pictures looked good too, but I knew 99.9% it was a scam, but I emailed them anyways to check. Sure enough "we are in the east coast and we're moving out of country. We love the car and it's so good, but we're not going to need it where we're moving. Just deposit the money in an escrow service and we'll ship it to you."
I reported them to craigslist and emailed them back saying I know about that scam. Not very long after I started receiving more than a usual share of spam. :O It's really not that hard to weed out most of the scams out there. I mean, make sure they are open to actually showing you the car in person. If they're far away, it's a scam. Why would they advertise in somewhere half a country away or farther? If they don't let you test drive, it's probably a scam. If they ask you to use ANY kind of special way of paying, it's probably a scam.
