So i'm selling my RX8, and i have some questions.
Hey im going to sell my RX8 as i need a car thats more friendly towards a regular commute.. i want to get "some" profit off of the 8 and i was going to tell you guys the specs of my car and give the price i want to sell it off at to see if it was reasonable to ANY degree that people would buy it. I NEVER see RX8s in the autolocaters or in the paper and i havent even seen any in the harrisburg area on craigslist. but here it goes lemme know guys thanks!
Its Velocity Red Mica 2004 Mazda RX8 very good condition 49,000(give or take id have to look) miles on it with some upgrades in it 6-speed manual transmission on sale for $18,550 or any reasonable offer
thanks so much lemme know and thanks for taking the time to read all this

you are pretty dillusional to think that a 5 year old high mileage car pretty much out of warranty can get 18k.. I think realistically you can expect around 13-14k
why dont you just do an ad for 18k and see what happens? maybe some dumb *** might go for it, you might just get lucky. if no one bites then just lower the price.

Don't know why anyone would pay top dollar for an 8 when there is a multitude of '04 and '05 owners out there who are upside down, owing more than the car is worth and just happy to sell it for the $12,500 to $14,000 they owe, and, in some cases, just let someone take over payments?
So why pay a dealer type price of $18,550 for a car that can be picked up prvate for under $15K?

ahahahha, ur delusional.
ur car is worth if base model, max 13k private sell
GT max 15k
trade in dealer will give u about 9k for ur car.
i would know, i've just recently picked up a spanking clean GT 04 with 41k miles on the odo for 15k private sell. and this is back in Feb. now that the 09's are out, the price only dropped more.

probably reliability and gas consumption. the general public doesnt understand why a 1.3L car gets such bad milage and needs premium fuel. insurance also seems to run high for alot of people who want these cars. ive also seen, working at a dealership, alot of sports cars tanking in price just because they are impracticle and most people consider them toys.

Put it on Autotrader.com also.
And check out this threat https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8s-sale-wanted-43/fs-black-hks-turbo-rx8-102452/
Swift is selling his HKS Turbo heavily moded and very low mile (only 17K)/super clean RX8 for 18K. So far...the most he was offered is like 17 sumthing. That's for heavily moded perfect condition 8.
So why would you think you would get up to 18K for your car? lol... Don't look at the dealer sticker prices...you would never get what dealers are selling these for.... sorry..that's the reality. It's sad but true

Wow...Not to beat a dead horse but I just ran across this post.

I just sold my 05 RX8 for 15K with 16,500 miles on it. Honestly, if you're in the market for one of these cars you can get a really good deal. Problem is there are very few people looking....Took me 3-4 months to get 15K and I started at 18,500.

49,000 is not high miles for an 04 car. There are motivated sellers and motivated buyers. Someone may come along and just love your car and be willing to pay your best price. Some folks go car hunting looking for THE car not the best deal. 2mos. ago I was offered 16.500 for my 04 touring . I turned em down . The lady wanted my car because it was exactly the car she wanted. She had looked at a few other 8's on car lots and had been quoted a better price. I guess my point is , be patient . Lots of things figure into the price of a used car.

I just got an 04 GT with every single option... even nav (and the two tone red int) and an upgraded exhaust, only 24k for $15,500
If you really need to sell it just put it on Ebay for like 12k with NR.
Also most dealerships if you trade the car in will give you 30 days to sell your trade in or they will take it for the appraised amount.
Just a thought
