sold the 8, got a truck:)

whats up all?? its been a while since i have been here.

had to get rid of the rx8 and had to get a truck for winter at my vaction house in the mountains. I took the rx8 up there once last year, it snowed, i was stuck for 8 days. not good!!!!

i got a ford f250. it has a 10 CYLINDER ENGINE, and i get better MPG then the rx8.
How sad is that??

i miss the 8 but i like the extra money i have now since my car payment, and insurance dropped like 175 bucks a month.

its weird but the truck is acctually very quick. i was not expecting it to be so fast but, it is a lot quicker 0-60 then the 8, but the truck dose NOT have the brakes like the 8 dose, so it is very scary going fast in the truck.

well all have a good one. also i still have a midpipe for the 8 for sale if you want it pm me, its in the for sale section. its $140.

what's the specs on it? I googled the F-250 and the review I read said 9.3 seconds for the 0-60 time on the v10. Not exactly a RX-8 killer, though the torque might make it feel like it is.

6.8l V-10 275hp @ 4,250 rpm; 410 lb-ft torque @ 2,650 rpm

Be careful in the snow/slush/rain

If you've spent any time driving pickup trucks you already know this but their weight distribution leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to poor driving conditions, the *** end will love to slide out from under you at the worst times if you aren't careful.

I just offer that as a caution, a lot of people get in a truck the first time and feel bullet proof, they can be fun to drive with all that power but have their own unique quirks. I hope you enjoy your truck. My ten year old F-150 gets better mileage than my 8 but I knew that going in.

+1 to control in weather conditions. On a day that had more rain than usual, saw 3 trucks slide the back end out in about 30 minutes of driving. havnt experienced it myself though.

Is it just the perspective of seeing those on the truck, or do those rims look like 16" or 17"?

I very much doubt it that its faster than the 8. My father has one and I drive it once in a while. But its a nice truck, I love it. Pulls anything and its fabulous in the snow or when offroading (has 4wheel drive)

I had heard that the V10 was not selling too well for Ford. Everyone went from the big V8 to Diesel if they needed the big towing capabilities.

O.o

Wow, I'd say you pretty much found and purchased a vehicle that is the exact opposite of the 8. Hope you enjoy it though!

My deepest sympathies. I borrowed one of these Ford trucks from a friend to pick up some furniture. I feel for you. But do what you must.

The only truck I know for a fact is faster than my 8 is my father's Ram SRT-10. That truck, my friends, is a freaking BEAST.

Did someone say truck?! Omg I'm moving this weekend, can you bring the truck and help me move? Get ready, your friends will call you more often now, for you have become much more useful than with the 8.

Funny, I live in Canada and I don't need a truck.

"better MPG, lot quicker than the 8" ...you're not very smart are ya?

Ford seems to like to advertise to the world that that truck has a V10, just look at the size of that badge!

I really like Ford's trucks. I never had problem with them. Trucks can be very useful if you own a home.

After 15 years with a pickup and SUV, I had enough and went the opposite direction. I got my 8 because I missed my RX-7 from 27 years ago.

I just got so sick of driving vehicles that handled like, well, trucks- that I needed a sports car again. I kept the old Explorer for winter and general use.

Good luck to you, though!

Man I hated the early silverados. Too much of a wide turning radius.
