Spotted: RX-8 in San Andreas
Had a little fun figuring out how to mod cars (and other things) on the PC version of the game. Thought I'd post a couple of pics.

^^Yeah, I know... This is pretty much what made me pick the game up and start playing again. I usually get hooked on heavily moddable games.
^This is a mod. Once I figured out how it's actually done and downloaded the file for it, it takes all of 30 seconds to get the car in there. Very simple. If anyone wants the link to this and quite a few other mods, just let me know!

Here ya go!
RX-8 Model/Texture file: http://grandtheftauto.filefront.com/...azda_RX8;49760
The editing tool needed to install those two files: http://grandtheftauto.filefront.com/file/;44920
To install: Just extract the contents of the RX-8 .zip file to their own folder. Do the same for the IMG tool. Then, start up the IMG tool, go to File, Open. Now, just browse to the GTA: San Andreas main folder, and finally the Models folder.
Once you've done that, you should see 4 files of type .img These are what you'll be working with... Click the gt3.img file to open it... Now, the "hard" part.
1.) Go to "Tools" and sort by "name" to make searching FAR easier...
2.) Scroll down until you find the two files that match what's in the RX-8 .zip you downloaded. In this case they will be sultan.dff and sultan.txd
3.) Right-click one of those files, select "Replace", then simply browse to the same files in the RX-8 folder and click "open" once you've chosen them. (this replaces the Sultan model/textures with the RX-8 model/textures).
4.) Start the game, and keep your eyes open. You'll run into one eventually. (or, you can do what I've done, and just download a trainer that lets you summon any vehicle at will)

lol, glad you liked it.
Also, once you get it installed, try to peek through the windows at the interior. It's amazing how much detail there is. Even the radio is modeled correctly.

Yeah, I know. lol
I had the PS2 version as well, and high recommend upgrading to the PC version (if you have a decent machine). It's SO much more smooth and clear... More detail, better graphics, colors, cleaner sounds, and all the neat stuff you can add in almost at will.

Yikes, the interior is quite detailed. I had to take it to the paint shope to get the Shinka color tho. The 50/50 balance seems to be right too. Now I can drive my car like I always wanted to

I still cannot get over the little details like that... The seats (even the texture!), the console, and as the GF just pointed out, the stereo controls are even present on the steering wheel. Someone put a LOT of work into this.
