Yeah, it was the Cavalier.
The Evo seemed like it was checking out whether I wanted to come out an play. But when he saw I wasn't interested, he went on his merry way.
The Cavalier did the gen-u-ine ricer flyby, though.

Addendum to the story:
I was at a red light with a big-*** older Lincoln on my left. After the light turned green and I had driven a bit, I heard loud pipes from the car behind me (the Cavalier). I did not change my speed. Then the Cavalier cut right in front of the Lincoln -- which proceeded to floor it and ride his *** for the next three blocks. The kid got a race he didn't want.
