STi Goodness!
Pretty damn impressive for an MT car. It was also detonating at the end of the run so they should break their record very soon. Also, they're not being real open about what is done to the car but either they are launching it in 2nd gear or it has some sort of worked over tranny. Though the stock 6 speed has proven to be pretty damn strong and there have been a good number of 10 second passes on stock trannys...
Enjoy

Ike,
The lastest BMI has an Evo 9 vs 2006 STi comparison. Thought you might be interested.
Just go to mini nova and type in BMI. Its vol 28! (New Sti Fast 4)
Here's the direct link. Dunno how it will stay here...whole torrent things are all grey area sketchy.

Seriously, I don't know how I should react to this. Am I suppose to laugh at the rally dragster or wonder if it can take an escudo. Either way I could care less.

I'll give you a hint. It has to do with that 800+whp evo thread and poor Ike(YOU) felt left out.
If you posted an sti wrecking havoc on a rally or road course, I might actually care but watching someone drag race an sti is plain
P.S. I've posted well over 3 times in other threads that I didn't care about. What makes this one so different?

On a side note, the RX was pretty sweet too. Although, given that it was also designed with road-course in mind it does seem out of place with a hood scoop dragging on a 1/4. Not unlike the STi.

I am so sick of hearing about the STI's and there unbeatable perfromance! I have driven several and hell ya there fast but why the big fuss?? I just don't get it, I thought the motor felt like the pedal was an on and off switch and the car didn't feel substanial even for it's weight. I know it's heavy but it felt cheap to me, shaky hood, dumb wing, light doors etc. The 06's went to a smaller scoop which is great but why all the hub-bub? I understand for 30k-ish it's the fastest four-season car but I guess I'm in the minority on thinkin there alright. I did consider one breifly but it's perfromance couldn't out-weigh the cons of the vehicle. I also understand they mod well but for most thats not a issue. Kind of a useless post but the car ain't that great.......

I'm still trying to figure out what that hood scoop does on that 9 second sti. It clearly shows the fmic.

RX8 and a Truk....
That STI is amazing!! wow...and dude? 9.57 is HAULING ***. Faster in the 1/4 than most of today's 1000cc sportbikes - with very close to the same trap speed. That's 'holy-****' fast.
Question - did I see POSITIVE camber on the rear wheels? Planned or induced somehow because of the launch?

also shocked at the harsh words tsuchiya had for the C6 Corvette's handling.
they sort of dissed the rx8 again by saying its in the same performance class as the new miata while the s2k is at a level above. also pointed out again the Z's biggest weakness, brake fade.
