Subaru Sti and RX8

I just read a review of the new Subaru http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/Con...=1051643359752 and i wonder if I am making a mistake in buying the RX8. The Subaru seems so much better even if much more expensive, at $46K Canadian dollars compared with 39K for the full RX8.

Any comments ?

Herc, One less makes ours more unique???

The WRX is fugly (my son owns one), it does fly around turns without breaking loose (awd), it's difficult to launch quick (boost limited to 7psi in first gear) blah blah. To each his own. They are both great cars.

Yes but they are both for different purposes, imo.

Besides this comparison has been done to death.

If you're not sure, power generally appeases those with limited car knowledge and appreciation, so get the WRX if you have doubts.

i dont think it's fugly..it's pretty individualistic in my opinion.
but yea, i think sti and rx8 are for different uses. i was contemplating between these 2 for a little while too, cuz the sti has so much more power and all. but i think i'll just be more happy in a rx8. sure i like watching wrc and all, but i dunno..something about rx8 keeps me on it. styling? rotary? 4 door sports car? i dunno. maybe it's cuz i think i'd feel more mature in an rx8... it's just a matter of preference. why do people drive hummers?

Jim Kenzie has a web site:
www.jimkenzie.com

You'll enjoy reading about a rally in Newfoundland.
Lots of good stories if you have the time.

haflon,

have you considered about the Lancer evo. looks better than Sti. But both the sti and the evo has very similar performance, not to mention interior. And I think the evo is cheaper.

No we can't. You wouldn't be able to register it or put plates on it because it doesn't pass Canadian safety standards. It's unavailable becuase of Government regulations, not becuse Mitsu decided to not sell them here.

The STI is certainly the better buy if your a power freak, the hatch sti is amazing and quick. but if your looking for something unique and not just another turbo piston engine the rotary is the way to go small light and amazing handleing and if you are a hp freak slap a greddy turbo kit and your set

I had a Subie, not the STI, but a Legacy sedan...hated it, it just felt cheap, not a big Subie fan, but the STI numbers are impressive.
